April 2018: Bella FKS Schatzie was rescued from an abusive situation. Her owner sadly passed away who took very good care of her and she ended up somehow in a bad place. With everything she has been through she is a sweet dog. She seems good with other dogs. At one point another dog went to her food dish while she was eating and she did growl. She is fine with people taking her dish. She is housetrained. Bella loves being around people and sitting in the lobby looking out the door. Also, once Bella knows you she will hopefully show her true beautiful colors. She has no idea why she is here and is hoping to be adopted or go into a foster home soon. If you are interested, please submit an application online and you will be contated by one of our adoption volunteers.

Schatzie and her siblings and mom were rescued from a high kill shelter. These precious puppies are so cute and loving!
Foster Update:
Schatzie
is a beautiful friend to us. She is loving and comes to me to pet her and rub her tummy. She is very playful with our dogs and her siblings. She has a calm demeanor and is well socialized. They become frightened with sudden loud noises. This will improve as she grows. We started leash training and she did pretty well with treats to spur her on. This will also improve with time. She is also improving with house training. I believe she is crate trained. After they eat, they go out into the yard for an hour or so and this gives plenty of time to use the potty many times. The puppies have a large pen outside as well and they spend a lot of time here during the day. They can come into the house as well. They are pretty much paper trained in the house, but ocassionally accidents do happen. She goes out into the yard 4-5 times a day to play.
She is fed 1/3 can of pedigree puppy canned food and approx. 1-2 cups of dry Pedigree puppy food in the AM. In the evening I add ½ cup of Yogurt instead of the canned food to the dry dog food. She is going to be a larger dog and requires more food. She loves her treats. She is given medium size Milkbones, Rawhide chews and pup-peronies. They will eat all day if you give it to them. They are growing like weeds.
Her mother Viktoria, who is a Rottie and is also up for adoption were in very bad shape when rescued by Judy. The mother was very, very skinny and the puppies had manage which was contagious. They were in isolation for 4-6 weeks. The mange is all healed now and the hair that they lost has grown back in. She has been with us for three weeks now. We have enjoyed them very much. They now need that forever home. Schatzie will make a great friend and great addition to your family.
