Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Olive Oil the Senior Pointer
Olive Oil the Senior Pointer

Hi Judy, I wanted to let you know how Olive Oil (now named Sadie) is doing. She is such a sweetheart. After losing my 15 1/2 year old lab mix I was devastated. After a while I felt something missing. I decided that I need to add to my family and give another rescue dog a loving home. It took only a short time for Sadie to settle in her new home. We enjoy our 2 walks a day with my dog Ellie. The trees and squirrels in our back yard keep Sadie entertained and active. I was warned that she was capable of opening food containers when I adopted her, but did not know she is so smart she can open the refrigerator too. We've made adjustments to now prevent that. I hope everyone could see how much joy an older dog can give you. I have included a couple recent pictures of Sadie so you can see how she is doing. Thank you for all you do, Kathy H.

Ohiro the Shih Tzu
Ohiro the Shih Tzu

Just wanted to thank you for allowing us to bring Ohiro into our home . I have never seen a dog adjust so well. She has become my daughters shadow and curls up right next to her to sleep at night. She gets along with her new sister Lucy Lou and last night they sat in the bed together as we watched TV. She has been a true joy and a welcome addition to the family, I could not have asked for a better match. Thanks!! ~ Angela A.

Oscar the Dachshund
Oscar the Dachshund

Oscar is finally home. We did run into something funny about him, at night he likes to sleep under the covers on the bed. We will stop that because it makes me to nervous that I might roll on him. He’s smaller than my daughter was when she was born and I didn’t sleep in bed with her either for the same reasons. We figure that he is small in frame and must be chilly so we will put a blanket in his fur bed for extra warmth and put his bed on our bed. Not to sure he is going to like that, but we will try it. He is absolutely a darling and fits into our family very well. Will take time for the cats to warm up to him, Cricket and Sweet Pea are already ok with him, but they were here when we had our other dogs. Harley has never been around dogs and will take him a little longer to warm up. They will all be fine. Thank you for our little boy, he is a perfect addition to our family. ~ Michael and Sandy
