Ohiro is an exquisite four year old Shih Tzu. Love this dog!!! Mary Beth, from Seminole County Animal Control, called Judy and asked her to take Ohiro. She had been surrendered by her owner because she nipped someone. Well, yeah! You see, Ohiro was hiding under the couch (clue number one) when someone reached under and dragged her out. And got nipped for their efforts. Who is the dummy in that story???? Mary Beth no more believe that Ohiro is a biter than the man in the moon! And I have to tell you, I believe it. You see, Judy dropped by my house after picking her up at the shelter so I could take photos (thus the shaggy hair). You should have seen Ohiro. So happy. Danced right out of the car walking on the leash. Judy had to go back to the car to get something so I held the leash. Ohiro never took her eyes of Judy. She plopped her bottom down in a perfect sitting position, tip of her tail wagging. When Judy came back, Ohiro jumped up and danced in a circle on her back legs! Really, the dog is a doll!!!

Traditionally, their coat is kept long, with ears blending into the body, distinct mustache, and a top knot secured with a bow. However, in our Florida climate, many are clipped short to relieve them of the heat. An alert watch dog, Shih Tzus like to bark but are usually quiet in the house.
