Puppies don't come cuter than this little guy! And he has the sweet, loving personality to match that great face. Puddles is everything you hope for in a puppy: clumbsy, bouncy, curious, rambunctious. And he loves to shower you with lots of kisses and puppy breath!

Assumed to be part Bernese Mountain Dog, this puppy will grow to be one big, sweet companion dog for one lucky family. Content to be beside you, he follows you everywhere, and is always excited to see you return after leaving his sight. He has been following his brothers and big foster brother around, being very helpful with projects like chasing a ball, tugging a toy, or digging a hole!

He is super friendly and affectionate, melting every heart he encounters. Puddles is a very happy, content, and trusting puppy who wags his whole butt when excited, and is always showing off his belly by napping on his back. He is more submissive when playing with his brothers, and likes to check-in with you to let you know he's having fun with a quick kiss.

Puddles will need a family that is prepared for his size, and is willing to make sure he has lots of attention and exercise. He would be happiest with another dog to play with at home, and should not be left alone for long periods of time. His family needs to understand that this breed bonds very tightly to his owner, and it would be very difficult to transition to another family once he’s grown. Also, please be aware that this breed has a shorter life span of only about 6-8 years.

Puddles is already crate-trained, and will need you to be patient and consistent with basic puppy training. He is quick (and loud!) to let you know when he wants something or is unhappy, but always has good, sweet intentions.

Puddles grows even more beautiful each day, and will be a wonderful addition to his forever family!

HISTORY: A brave little survivor, Puddles and his brothers and sister were found on the streets by a wonderful man who turned them into animal control. Oddly enough a black Lab mix that appeared to have recently had pups was picked up two days earlier. She had been hit and killed by a car. The pups were found not far from where the Lab mom was, so we can only assume she was their mom. And now, they are in wonderful foster homes being bottle fed and learning all of the basics to being a puppy.

BREED INFORMATION: According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, although the exact origins of the Bernese Mountain Dog are unclear, this breed probably began as a farm dog in the Swiss mountains. Paintings from the end of the 18th century show the Bernese type. By the end of the 19th century, however, many foreign dogs were being imported to Switzerland and there was a danger that the native breeds would be lost. Professor Albert Heim, Franz Schertenleib and others led the effort to preserve native Swiss breeds by finding remaining specimens and stabilizing the Berner Sennenhund (Bernese Alpine Herdsman's dog) as a distinct breed. The Bernese Mountain Dog was named after the Berne canton of Switzerland where the breed is widely known. The sturdy Bernese has been used for driving livestock, for draft work and as a farm guardian. Because of his gentle, happy temperament, the Bernese Mountain Dog makes a fine family companion. Its talents are tracking, herding, watchdogging, guarding, search & rescue, carting, and competitive obedience. These gentle, cheerful dogs love children. They are very intelligent, easy to train and are natural watchdogs, but not overly aggressive. A friend for life. They are very loyal and may have trouble adjusting to a new owner after they are 18 months old. Self-confident, alert and good-natured. They are fairly friendly with strangers, and are generally good with other pets and dogs. Never sharp or shy. These dogs may by slow to mature, remaining boisterous and puppy-like for quite awhile. The Bernese needs to be with people and not relegated to the backyard or kennel run. Like any dog, the Bernese Mountain Dog should be well socialized as a puppy. These dogs are sensitive and should be trained gently. They have a life expectancy of 6-8 years.
