Foster Update 6/30/12: While Luigi gets along with all the resident cats (including adult males), he much prefers spending time with just his foster parents.  The resident cats are highly active and they are all attention hogs! Luigi is polite and sedate, and would probably be happiest as the only cat in the household.   He especially loves to cuddle next to us quietly, all night long.

Foster Update 6/1/12: Luigi is gradually warming up and getting more comfortable in our home.  He likes to cuddle on the bed, and sometimes kneads and purrs.  He initiates playing daily chase games with Bear and Polly, and is re-learning that toys can be fun.  This morning he was having a good time with a leather shoelace, all by himself. He's also started greeting us at the front door. 

Foster Update 5/16/12: Since Luigi settled down, we've found him to be friendly, calm, gentle, and easy-going with the resident cats.  He likes to hang out near his foster parents, and wants to sleep on the bed with us all night long.  thus far he's neither mischievous nor physically active, so would be an ideal pet for seniors or disabled persons. He purrs heartily when stroked, and enjoys having his thick plushy coat brushed.

Both of these brothers are lovable but in different ways: Mario is a sensitive cat and that needs stability in his life, but he cuddles with me and butts his head on me at night for attention.  Luigi (he likes to eat a lot!) just likes attention all of the time, but will get out of the way of his brother on the bed if he has to. Otherwise, he's pulling on my arm with his paws to get me to pet him and rest my hand on him so he can go back to sleep at night. 

Luigi qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors program! If adopted by a senior (55+) his adoption fee is $25.
