Special Needs: Hearing impaired
Description:

Blanca is a sweet, super spunky, curious, and very playful little girl. She is hearing-impaired/deaf, but that has not stopped her from loving to play outside, flipping toys around, tumbling with other dogs, and giving thousands of kisses, especially when you’re holding her in your arm. she has the softest coat, really beautiful green eyes, and marble speckling on her nose. Blanca loves to explore and is curious about everything (both inside and outside of the house). Because she is hearing impaired, it is really important to keep an eye on her. if she has her back to you and is getting into some puppy trouble, it’s important that you can get to her quickly because she won’t hear you calling. she does respond to hand motions to come, open arms, and has almost learned the command for “sit,” (she’s so smart!). She is the baby that makes us laugh the most and can be a bit of a funny troublemaker ge ttin g into things while exploring. Blanca is fairly quiet, but will make a little noise if she is frustrated or wants attention. She naps very deeply, and the best way to wake her up is by putting your hand palm-up near her nose and taking your other hand to gently nudge her awake. She has been raised with her two brothers and has so much fun tumbling and playing with them all day. Because of her condition, it is very important to watch Blanca playing with other dogs since she cannot hear cues as to if she is playing too much with them or if they are ready to rest.    She is also about 85% potty trained and all potty has been done either outside or on pee pads, which has been wonderful. She really has been just the funniest and sweetest little girl despite not being able to hear, and look at the bright side, she’ll never fear the sound of firework or a vacuum!

Blanca, her siblings, and her mom all got their flight wings when they arrived at PRBJ via the Pilots for Paws program.   This organization is made of up volunteers that use their own resources to fly animals from rural areas to larger cities or more populated regions to help these homeless animals get a second chance and find them a forever home.

New puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog. We highly recommend their new family attend puppy training classes. Training classes are the most successful when everyone in the family attends so you all learn about your new puppy.
