Amber the Puppy needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him/her get a new start?

Amber is one of a litter of puppies born at the end of January. Their momma, Gisele, was left pregnant, abandoned in a yard, when her owner moved. Fortunately someone brought her to the Bervard Shelter where she gave birth to seven puppies on January 26, four girls, three boys, all as cute as pie!
We expect this litter of puppies to be ready for adoption around the end of March, early April. We will switch their status to Available for Adoption one week before their scheduled surgery. At that point, if you are interested in adding one to your family, you may submit an application. ~ we do not adopt on a first come, first serve basis, but strictly on finding the right home for the right pet.
Amber is a such a sweet snuggle bunny. She is a pretty, rich reddish gold color with unique greenish colored eyes. You will fall for her immediately!!! She is a sweetie!
3/17 Foster : Amber seems to be a very laid back, sweet dog , loves to play with her toys and enjoys spending time with people and also by herself. She is a good balanced dog for a family.
She has done a great job with the crate training despite her age :) she will let you know when she needs to go out.
Please keep mind that commiting to adopting and raising a puppy is a huge job! Nothing is cuter than a puppy, but please remember they are blank slates and must be taught not to bite, scratch, jump, etc. It takes a lot of time, effort and training in order for the puppy to grow up to be a good canine citizen.
She will be spayed early in the week of March 23rd and ready for her forever home.
*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
