Daisey the Mountain View Cur

Hello All, Hopefully this story will end up in the right hands because I wasn't sure what address to use. Daisy (now known as Daze), was adopted at the Lake Mary PetSmart from Pet Rescue by Judy on 7/27/08. She was such a fearful creature and with the help of my other dog Nougat (pit bull mix), Daisy continues to emerge from her shell. We have worked diligently to try to desensitize Daisy from loud noises, fast movements and even her own shadow. It's a VERY slow process because she is one of the most stubborn dogs I have ever known. The morning seems to be the time she's chosen to be a the full fledged puppy she was never allowed to be. Even though she's two years old now, there's something about that time of day where she looks more like a VERY large kitten than a 60+ pound Mountain View Cur. I hope to catch her on video and send that along but she doesn't really care for cameras. However, I do have several shots I'd love to share with you. Other than a couple of bouts with a stomach ailment, she's been very healthy. She still has some fear factors but I believe she will conquer those as well. I just want to thank all of you for the work you continue to do and I am so happy about the new facility. I hope to come visit and volunteer at some point. Thank you to her foster parents for taking such wonderful care of Daze and thank you, Judy for my chance meeting with those eyes that burned their way into my heart. So much so in fact, when I first saw her I didn't want to leave her but I waited a week and talked with her foster parents and hoped she would still be available. I couldn't wait to return to the Lake Mary PetSmart. I walked in with my heart racing in anticipation and there she was. I brought my other dog Nougat along to see if they were a match. They've never had a single problem in getting along. In fact, Daze loves our four cats as well. She's a sweet soul and I am fortunate to be her forever home. I have attached some photos of Daze. Keep in mind she's not a fan of the camera so it's hard to make her look relaxed. I'm hoping to get her used to the camera as well. Thank you again and MANY blessings to you all, Wendy Wayne
