Lulu the Tortoiseshell

Lulu (renamed Laily) has settled in easily and beautifully. Once she was released from her travel crate into the guest bathroom where she would get oriented to the house, she immediately checked out the cat cave and both cat beds. She acted as if she thought she was in shangri-la, she just coiled herself into one of the beds and wriggled on her back as if in ecstacy! She clearly understands how to get along with other cats, since she has been very patient with the 'tude exhibited by Minerva, who was adopted at the same time. Her appetite has been excellent. She loves to sidle up and rub against me, and seems to be trying hard to be friends with Minerva -- I think she is accustomed to feline contact from living in the open cat room. She loves to spend a few minutes playing with one of those interactive teaser/tickler things, then she's ready for a snack, a nap, or just more petting sessions. She LOVES to be petted. I am just amazed by her exotic beauty and her sweet and gentle nature. I am so glad she is now part of the family!
