Gadi the Black Lab

I am finally writing to you regarding Gadi my 2nd success story. I am a foster failure of the best kind. I'm sure you remember this great big dork. He was almost put to sleep because he was so aggressive at the shelter. I believe I have Michelle to thank for saving him from that fate when he kissed her on the way to the vet. When I first met him I almost backed out of fostering him because he is so big but since it was not my plan to keep him a figured a little stay wouldn't hurt. Little did I know he would steal my heart. The first night we got home I almost brought him back. He jumped up on the sofa next to me a started growling and barking at me and I thought he was going to rip my face off! But when I looked at him he had this dorky look on his face and his eyes were soft so I growled back at him and he flopped on his back with his legs in the air and wriggled around until I rubbed his tummy. Then he started to purr like a cat! He slept by the bed the first night but w! hen he realized that my others dogs share the bed he just assumed that he could too. I would chase him off and he would wait for me to fall asleep and then sneak back up. I woke up every morning with him curled up as small as he could make his self so that I wouldn't notice he was there. I finally gave up and since he purrs like a cat it helps me fall asleep. After the adoption event I took him too and the one and only failed adoption I was starting to reconsider when someone sent me a video about " Big Black Dog Syndrome" I decided I had to keep him. No one will ever understand him the way I do. He is just a big baby and a really big dork. He wasn't exactly on his best behavior at the vet's office but we are working on that and I know he will just keep getting better with time. He is very smart and has learned all of the basic obedience commands and we are working towards his "Canine Good Citizens Certificate". He loves riding in the car and going to the dog park. He is a ! great dog and he will have a happy home with me for the rest of his li fe. Thank you for saving his life. Your the best. Love You, Randi
