Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Odyssey the Young Lady (VIDEO)
Odyssey the Young Lady (VIDEO)

Hi Jennifer, Just wanted to give all of you an update on our wonderful family addition, Odessey our cat. As you know , we adopted her April 21 st of this year and she just melted our hearts right away. She fit right in, she acted like she had been here forever. The kids absolutely love her and I think she loves them too since she chases them around the house. Odessey plays with us every chance she gets, its sooo much entertainment watching her play tag and running around the house. Once everyone goes to sleep, she has her own special private time with me, and boy she's a little lover. She sits in my lap and rubs her face on mine to show her affection, she even shared a late night bowl of cereal with me. She is definitely spoiled by all of us, I even caught my hubby playing with her in the evenings and in the morning. They have their own ritual each morning, hubby makes coffee, Odessey rubs up against his legs, then they both go out on the patio together. It's like clock work. She does like to hunt for lizards on the patio and bring them to me as gifts ( yuck ). Soooo, we just wanted to Thank PRBJ for finding our most awesome family member for us. We Love her. I will send pictures of her soon. I tried to update her info on the website but could not. Please make sure you post this to Odessey's update, we want everyone to know how awesome you guys are on matching pets and family's together. Thanks so much Jenn. Trish Christopher

Oskar the Kitten

he cats are doing great. They are loved, loved, LOVED! They have totally settled in and sleep and play together all day. Their new favorite napping location is my son's bed, but when my daughter got home from the ER Thurs night/Fri morning she went to sleep in my bed only to wake up with Orla snuggled between her chest and her splint! When they came home they barely hissed at each other - that probably didn't even last 24 hours. Neither kitten is dominant - sometimes Orla "attacks" Oscar and vice versa. Although Oscar is bigger than Orla - so we've added back more wet food for her to get her some more calories. Both look good and are very healthy. They are probably the nicest, sweetest cats we've ever been around and feel SO LUCKY to have found them! Thank you again for everything - we sincerely appreciate all the love and care you gave our kittens as their foster mother. We were always a happy family before, but adding these sweet pets has made us all even happier! Have a great weekend, Bethany

Opus the Black Lab

My wife and I adopted Opus (now known as Huxley) back in June of last year. He has grown to be a fantastic puppy! I've attached a couple pictures if you want to see how cute he is :)

O'Malley

O'Malley is without a doubt the sweetest kitten! Perfect baby! He is under my feet, within my sight all the time, and in my lap every chance he gets! Sunday night was successfull with him sleeping with us... tho at first thought I had a jumping bean in bed with us!! As soon as the tv went off, he settled right in. Last night, ditto, even with the girls now back in our bed too. Believe me when I say he is making up for lost time playing!!! There are toys all over the place, but I pick all up when I run the cleaner. He knows the toy basket & goes and gets all the toys back out by himself. THIS kit is sheer joy!!!!! Gary took some pix with the babe crashed for a nap in my lap over the weekend. I don't have a digital camera, good old 35mm, so will either scan or send you the doubles when I get the roll processed. Thanks so much again. I am loving the fact he knows the meaning of "NO"!!! Good Mommy!!!

Oscar the Lover Boy Kitten

Hey there, hope your holidays were wonderful. As anxious as I am to have them arrive.............I'm always glad when the tree is down and back to normal. Oscar & Otis are doing fine and here's a picture. Oscar is about 15 lbs and Otis is around 13 lbs. Otis now thinks he's a lap dog. His shyness is gone and he's literally all over me.........day and night. He's very insistent about when he wants affection and makes no bones about it. If I have family or friends over, however.........he's gone and wants nothing to do with them. They call him the "ghost". My son's girlfriend teases him out with some kitty munchies, just to get a look at him, but he keeps a far distance. After they leave.........he's all over me again :-) They are both wonderful kitties and wow..........they will be 2 in June. Thanks for all you do for Judy and for people like me, that enjoy pets. Otis just came over while I'm in the middle of typing this and meowed over and over again, until I backed away from the computer, to give him room to jump up in my lap. He's sitting here now. Have a wonderful 2012.
