Honey the Sweet As Honey Declawed Girl
Hi, Jennifer.
I have been meaning to contact you, but just finished unpacking on Wednesday (we had a lot of renovations to do). I've attached one "before" picture so you can get an idea. Honey has been renamed to Squeaky. When she first started to "talk" to me, she had a very little squeak for a voice. The name seems to fit her. I have attached a couple of pictures.
We had a very rough time for over two months. In fact, I was on the last attempt with the litter box issues before I was going to surrender her because I was out of options. Luckily, the last attempt worked. The only kitty litter I can use is "Cat Attract". I have no idea why. I took her to a vet that specializes in cats. All lab work was negative, the vet said she was in excellent health except she felt Squeaky was very much overstressed (too much change in too short a time), as evidenced by her smooth pink belly (she has evidently been pulling our her fur for quite some time). I tried two litter boxes (since it seems she had always been in a multiple cat home with multiple litter boxes). That worked for three days and then she started pooping in front of the litter box - even when I had just cleaned it. I could go on about everything I tried, but it doesn't matter any more. She has been using the litter box consistently for 5 weeks now, and I am very pleased about it.
She is such a luv, I absolutely did not want to bring her back but was feeling that I would have no choice. The fur is growing back on her belly. She is friendly with every one who comes in, even if she has never met them before (except for my Dad's dog - she absolutely does NOT like the dog :) She often sleeps with me. So, after a very rough 3+ months, we seem to have both settled in. I am surprised she did not have litter issues in the foster mom's home or in the shelter. She certainly had been pulling her fur out for some time.
But long story short, that's over and she is in her "forever home". Pictures are attached.
Take care,
Janet
Holly
Hi there,
I just wanted to take a moment to tell you about Holly. She has become my daughter's best friend and lives in the bedroom side of the house. We have a baby gate up in the kitchen to keep the doggies away from her because she is still not a fan. If we are all on the doggie side of the gate she will start whining for Abby to come and give her attention. She is starting to like the other family members, but is truly Abby's cat. Just wanted you to know that she is doing well.
Howey the Lab Puppy
Hi Colleen,
Seth and I just wanted to let you know that Howey is doing AWESOME!!! We have changed his diet from the Iams to a home cooked chicken / veggies recipe that he absolutely adores!!! (Don't worry, I know how to cook for dogs- have read the research and did it for my last two who lived to be fifteen and seventeen...). He is going to the dog park daily where he runs and plays with tons of other dogs. He has become so confident- it's amazing to watch him watch the other dogs and figure out how he's going to jump in on their game! They all treat him very well; even the older dogs seem to understand that he's a puppy and needs "special treatment."
We're also walking him 2-3 miles per day, which he loves, so he is working off that puppy energy!!! :)
He is so smart! Today, he figured out that loading up in the car means we're going to the dog park and he was barking the whole way!! He has also learned to sit at the door when I leave for work (instead of running after me) and has learned sit, stay, down, leave it, let go, and heel. He hasn't had one single accident in the house, either!! Also, he doesn't bark when we go to bed. He only did that the first night, then stopped. What a good boy!
We are so in love with him and he is just such a fabulous dog. So much of that has to do with, I think, his foster mom, Emily. She did wonders puppy training him!
He's also growing like a weed! I swear, his legs have grown 2 inches in the last week! We think he'll be a really big boy, which is great, but for now, he is eating and chewing a lot!
We love Howey so much and really thank all of you at Pet Rescue By Judy for making this happen! He is the perfect addition to our home and we absolutely treasure every moment with Howey.
Thank you, again,
Jenny
Halo the Siamese Kitten
I have attached a few phots of Suki (formally "Halo") looking for "Bob" our fish, trying to hide in basket,
looking cute in basket and relaxing with her new BFF. Suki has been a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you PRBJ for introducing her to us! We love her very much. Best Regards, Lynch Family
Harper the Lab Puppy
Emily,
Thanks again for everything. It was so nice of you to arrange to meet us last night. For what it is worth, I thought you were wonderful and were the shining part of the adoption process. So, again, thank you. I wanted you to know that Harper did great on the drive home. Matt held her and she snuggled into him. We stopped at PetSmart to pick up more food, bones, and fun puppy stuff and she was the best behaved pup in there. People could not believe we had just adopted her, so way to go on puppy training. You're a natural. When we got home, she ran right in like she owned the place and made herself right at home. She slept great in a crate next to our bed and she has done awesome today. We went on a walk first thing this morning and she and Ava loved it. We walked over three streets to my girlfriends house and she had a play date with the labradoodle I was telling you about. She was skittish at first, but then made herself at home there too. She passed out after the walk back home. She was pooped. We are so happy with her and were instantly in love. We will definitely keep you up to date. :-)
Hugs,
Angel, Matt, Ava, and Harper.
