Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Blue the Terrier
Blue the Terrier

To Judy and everyone else, Just wanted to give a quick update on blue. Sorry it's been so long, we've been working so hard starting up a new business. Blue is living here with me in Miami with my old 110 pound doberman and my 4 pound chiuaua. He gets along great with both of them. I take him with me every single day to work from 9-5. I opened an outdoor boat storage yard and a mobile home park, however, the yard is in a not so good part of Miami. Blue turned out to be the best guard dog ever. Nobody goes within 5 feet from me. He doesn't even bark, just stares at them. I think he likes it here in Miami. He still comes out on the boat with me a couple times a week and loves the beach. I do get yelled at sometimes by other dog owners because I'm not supposed to have him in Miami, but I don't really care. They're just jealous of him. Here's a picture of us on Halloween. How is everything going over there? Keeping up the good work? I will be in Orlando at the end of March and would love to come by and say hi. See if anyone remembers me. I can't bring blue though, he doesn't like long car rides, just short ones. Anways keep up the good work and e-mails. Cory

Brownie the Basenji Puppy

Just wanted to thank you again for helping us. Brownie (Now Bowden) is SUCH a good puppy. A death in the family made an impromptu trip to West Virginia. He LOVES all of the snow. Just wanted to share a picture. Thanks again -- Stephanie Moler

Boo Boo the Lab

I feel like such a proud mom being able to give an update on Asher (formerly Boo Boo). We were actually looking for a dog a little smaller than he is, but when we met him, we knew he was the perfect match for our family. In the three months that we have had him, he has learned so much and become such a wonderful member of our family. He went through, and passed with flying colors, a beginning training class right away. Since then, we have been challenging him every day by "upping" his training and he continues to improve and improve. Asher, in our opinion, is the best-behaved dog in the neighborhood as he walks on a lose leash right by our side and remains calm even when other dogs are barking at him or even charging him! We hear things like "I wish my dog was that well behaved" from other dog owners all the time. We have a cat that is skittish, and Asher has done really well with her (and to bring a 70lb dog into this house was something we weren't sure how she would be able to handle). He chases her occasionally wanting to play (she doesn't quite get the memo though!), and has even tried to heard her, but the best part is that she isn't afraid of him. She doesn't hide under the bed or avoid being in the same room with him and will often sleep within 1-2 feet of him. This speaks volumes to his energy toward her, and has been another one of Asher's blessings in this family. Asher gets lots of structure, 4-5 walks a day and even a daily bike ride—which I can't recommend highly enough! We keep each other moving—I have some health issues that put me in a lot of pain and fatigue and going on these daily walks and bike rides with him have been really beneficial for me too. I could go on and on about how wonderful he is, but I'll save some for our next update! Ash is beautiful, adorable, affectionate and increasingly well-behaved, and we just look forward to a long and wonderful future with him as part of our family.

Bernie the Boxer Puppy

Hi Susan, I just wanted to give you an update on Bernie. He has been renamed - Buddy! Buddy has adjusted very well to his new home. It seems like he has always been a part of our family. Our vet believes he is only about 10 months old and is very much a puppy. He is very playful, but very well behaved most of the time. He can be quite mischievous when he wants attention. He will run off with a shoe or some item belonging to the person he wants attention from. He has already gained 5 pounds in the last month and our vet believes he will get to 75 pounds! He loves the fenced in yard and loves to play chase with the whole family. He follows us every where we go in the house. He just loves being with us. Our 6 year old loves her new Buddy so much and he just loves her. He has made friends with other dogs in the neighborhood too. He just has a great personality. We were so lucky to find him!! I have attached some photos. Thank you to Pilots for Paws and everyone at PRBJ for saving this wonderful dog's life. He has changed our lives in so many ways in just a short time. We can't imagine not having him in our lives! Susan, Steve and Allison Bell

Bentley the Lab Puppy
Bentley the Lab Puppy

Hello Rescue by Judy People, Nov, 14th Bentley bounded into my life and I have been blessed ever since. When I rescued him he was skinny, pale and puppy wild. He has gone from 23 pounds to 33 pounds on just good food and Eukanuba puppy treats, when he goes in his crate. He has attended one puppy class so far. He walks pretty well on a leash, sometimes, he's only 4 months, but I'm impressed. He is beautiful & growing, growing, growing. I am so grateful to have him in my life and I thank God for such wonderful people like you. To think this precious bundle of energy and kisses was sitting in the Titusville SPCA with his fate at question is unthinkable. I took him to my cats vet & he said he was in good health but extremely thin, but he was going to be a great dog. And that is why you do what you do, there is a place in heaven waiting for you, but don't hurry to get there, to many other animals need you here. Keep up the good work! ~Cary Z.
