Description:Blue is a blue terrier that thinks he is the funniest thing to ever hit town. You see, he is an escape artist. But when he gets out he runs around to the door and waits there until you find him. Funny. Very funny.....
Anyway, this goober is from Tampa. His owners are friends of Paul Pepitone, a dog trainer who volunteers with us. They couldn't keep him, no way would they euthanize him, so drove to Sanford to surrender him to us. Blue is very friendly, smart, a beautiful. He doesn't like to share his home with other dogs, and suspect that cats might be too much of a temptation. So if you have room in your life for just one perfect pet, then you should consider Blue! Read these foster updates and you'll see what a great dog he is!!!
2/1 Volunteer Update:
Blue is a very sweet loving boy, he gives lots of kisses not the sloppy ones you have to wipe a lot of drool off but sweet kisses. I take him for a walk around block at least once a day, once we get about 10 feet down the road he is wonderful. He wants to walk on my left side and always has slack on the leash. I had a rock in my shoe so i stopped to get it out. As soon as Blue realized that I had stopped he turned around and waited by my side till I got my shoe back on. Which is wonderful for me seeing how i'm almost 6 months pregant now and my balence is not as good as it used to be. Blue loves meeting new people on our walks. He is always very friendly to those willing to give him a little lovin'. It even suprised me when we saw a dog walking towards us ~ he did not even give it a second thought to pull towards it even tho it was a very hyper barking beagel on the end of one of the 10 ft retractable leashes pulling towards us. Blue just looked at the dog like it was the crazy one and we kept trucking. I believe he is house trained as well. If you are looking for a wonderful addition to your family that's not very hyper but not very lazy and enjoys car rides then Blue is the perfect balence of both.
4/25/09 Fodster Update:
Blue is the best dog I've ever taken care of. He sits and gives me high fives and is completely potty trained. My favorite thing about him is he will never leave my side. He comes on the boat with me and jumps in the water. He walks great on a leash also. He needs a lot of exercise so i bike ride with him for about 2 miles so he can run. I don't have a fence in my yard, but when I let him out in the back, he runs around, but doesn't even think of running away. He has met about 4 dogs now. He doesn't even growl at them. He pretty much ignores them while they sniff him up, then gets playful. He sleeps in my bed and when he has to go to the bathroom in the morning, he licks my face to wake me. He's the most beautiful dog and I get compliments about him every time I walk him. He seldomly barks, but when he does, you feel safe. Little kids come up to him and pet him and he doesn't do a thing, just kisses them. I think he is a great dog for anyone that wants a loyal intelligent dog.
5/4 Foster Update:
he's been a great dog and I don't want to let him go, even though I have to. We had our graduation party yesterday (Sat. May 2nd) at our house by UCF. Blue was outside the whole time playing with us. (300 people showed up) There were about 5 other dogs there. A female lab, a male german Shepherd, a male golden retriever, a female pit, and another mutt. Blue got along great with all of the dogs. They seemed to roll in a pack and get along well begging people for their food. Today (cleaning up the party) Blue finally jumped in the lake off of the boat willingly. Usually I have to throw him in. He got in a small fight today with another bluenose pit bull that looked exactly like Blue, however Blue in no way started the fight. Blue is so obedient, however, that when the two dogs started to show teeth, I told him no and sit and he did, completely ignoring the fight. Last week, we were in the front yard and i heard barking across the street. there was a lady walking her dog and it was trying to bite Blue. Once I saw what
