Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Bunsen the Muppet Puppy

Hi PRBJ! We just wanted to update you on Copernicus (formerly Bunsen). We've had him for nearly 2 months and couldn't be happier with what a great addition to our family he's become - we couldn't imagine life without him! He's as smart as he is adorable! He already knows the commands to sit and give paw! He learns very quickly and was house broken very easily. A dog park was just built in our neighborhood too so he's gotten a lot of socialization and exercise. He loves to snuggle us both, but seems to have become a bit of a Daddy's boy, as you can see in the attached photo :) We can't thank you enough for letting us bring little Perny into our lives. Please make sure this gets to Trisha, his foster mommy, who we know had a big part in making him such a sweet boy. Happy holidays to all of you and your team! Gratefully, Amanda and Tim

Bluebell the Blue Mama
Bluebell the Blue Mama

I'm doing great and so is Bluebell! She's been everything we could ask for and so much more. She's an absolute sweetheart who just wants love. And she has been getting plenty of that! She's learning her basic commands very quickly and walks and runs on the leash like a champ. We are still working in her skin, which improves daily, per her new vets recommendations. Thanks so much for all you guys have done for BB!

Brinn the Sweet Little Girl
Brinn the Sweet Little Girl

Brinn is settling in really well. She is a lover and a real sweetheart of a dog. Now that we have pretty much taken care of her health issues, she is getting more energy and is pretty playful. Of course she always loves car rides and rolling in the grass, and is pretty much ignoring the cats. (although they really don't like being licked in the face!) She is such a wonderful dog, we find it hard to understand how two other family's gave her up. When she first came here, a lot of the sounds got her real nervous, (jet planes, fireworks from Disney & Universal), however, she seems to be getting used to the sounds of the neighborhood and has not gotten nervous for a couple of weeks now. I'm sure the first big thunderstorm will be interesting around here tho. She likes to lay in my guitar case when I am practicing the guitar. I tell myself that she is a music lover. Thanks again for all your help in adopting Brinn. Robert & Margaret

Bo the Sweetest Ever Kitten

The boys are doing really really well, they are way more relaxed this week now they feel a little more familiar with the new environment. They are eating and drinking well, napping a ton as babies do of course. Bo seems to have picked Matt as a favorite and sits and sleeps with him, whereas Charlie seems to be my little guy and sleeps by me the most and follows me around and loves a lot of cuddles throughout the day. Eve is the entertainment director and they seem to know its time for play when she's around. They are as cute as ever and we are just loving them more and more everyday :) I just replied to an email from Nina and I'd wanted to attach pics but I'm not sure how to do it yet on this device, I will forward them to you both this week, there's some really lovely ones in the 5000 we've probably taken. Thank you again, we are enjoying having the babies just so much, it's really changed the feel of the house, they are an absolute joy :)

Bender the Fun Loving Boy

Hello Catherine, Good to hear from you. So you really want to hear about Bender??? Wow!! Upon first entering our house we took great pains to introduce him to our small doggie, Butterscotch. Bender hissed and batted, but Butterscotch did not reply in kind - that happened several more times the first day, but also on the first day I watched them go nose to nose without either of them saying a bad word - that was a good sign. When they are close together we make a special effort to pet them simultaneously and tell them they are brother and sister and they need to love each other - better sooner than later:-))). Bender will go on a rampage occasionally running from one room to another, jumping on and off furniture, sliding across the coffee table, leaving a trail of stuff scattered about and sometimes landing back in his kitty litter box - seemingly just for fun!!! The first night he found himself on a shelf about 12 feet off the floor - a place no other critter of ours has ever been - we were in the process of bringing in the tall ladder from the garage when he jumped. No harm done. You were right - he is full of energy. When I brush my teeth he jumps in the sink, puts his paws on my chest and tries to put his tongue on my toothbrush - apparently has a taste for Sensodyne. He follows us everywhere - when I go to my desk he jumps up and plops himself directly on top of all my work, looks at me, we nuzzle and I usually get a slew of kisses. We pick him up countless times and hold him and talk to him - the limit usually being about 7 and a half seconds - and then repeat an hour later. Had his first vet visit this morning - all is well. We do love him either in spite of all of the above - or because of all of the above. Please tell Cheryl we are taking good care of him and she can visit anytime. Perhaps this was more than you needed to know:-))) Hopefully someday Bender and Butterscotch can be photoed sitting next to each other - when that happens I send a copy to you. keep up the good work there and we'll return the crate when we're in the area. larry & phyllis
