Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Ava the Siamese Kitten

Dear Judy, My wife and I adopted two of your cats, Ava and Ellie, two years ago and picked them up at the Oviedo Mall. They are wonderful and are doing well. Pictures attached. I now have three cats inside and am taking care of another outside. We are crazy about all of our babies and thank you and Bonnie for the foster care.

Aubrey

Hello, I'm Julia, the girl who adopted Aubry the little Toy Poodle. I renamed him Stuart Little, and he is doing very well with me. Stuart follows me everywhere and always wants to be in my arms. I'm very happy to have him and I couldn't imagine life without him. He was 3.5 lbs when I first took him to the vet and since then he's gained 1.3 lbs! He looks a lot healthier now! I keep him clean and use the trivexis every month. The only thing I could say I'm a little worried about is that he's had a weird cough ever since I had his teeth cleaned at the vet. Here are some pictures to show you how he's doing.

Acura the Black Cockapoo

Hello Pet Rescue by Judy! I thought you would like an update that is a long time in coming. We adopted Acura, now named Cory, 4 years ago this coming February. Time sure has flown. Cory is such a joy and delight. So smart, quick to learn, NEVER messed in the house, so playful. Loves his treats! When he came to live with us he was 15 pounds and now is up to 25 pounds. He loves walking with his "Dad" Loves his squeeky "christmas tree", runs around with it and teases you to get it. Still working on the whole fetch idea. Really enjoys hide and seek, loves to chase you and find you when you hide. He is quite the "talker", does a lot of grumbling and groaning when he's being loved and petted! He has become fast friends with Mugan the cat, they run and chase each other up and down the stairs. Likes and respects the other cat, Trouble, although she only tolerates him! Very protective of the two birds. But most of all he loves my son's dog, Icy, they are best of friends. I thought you would like to see how he looks today, with Icy the white Shepard. We thank you so much for all that you do for all animals looking for their forever home. God Bless,

Achilles the Artful Snuggler

In case you all were keeping up with it, Sunday was three months that the kids have been sleeping over. Milo has found a lot of new places to sleep. He is really good at that. The pictures should show him in action or lack of. I made them a window platform for looking out but I didn't take into consideration the combined weight of 26 pounds. After two failed attempts, I added the reinforcements. I did the nail clipping yesterday and I am glad that's over with. Milo likes to lunge to get away and Bittsy is just plan hard to catch. I have been doing it every three weeks to keep them from hurting each other when they play. I got them a box of ping pong balls the other day and Bittsy goes nuts with them. Milo must know that I am writing you, because he just walked in making weird noises. I guess he is saying Hi? The latest craze is that they spend the night in the front room where I made them a little tent with an old Indian blanket. I drape it over a 30 gal. plastic storage container with a large hole cut in the side. I know. I have way to much time on my hands. As you can see by the pictures, Milo has not lost any weight and all of Bittsy's hair has grown back in. They are two handsome guys for sure. Well that's about it for now. I hope that all is going well with you. Take care. Your friends, Rick and Susie

Avery the Catahoula Puppy

Hi Keri, Saturday we took Avery home, gave her a bath and new crate and toys. We have renamed her Georgia, in honor of her birthplace! She is doing so good, I'll think she'll be a good fit. Took her to the vet, he said he doesn't see bulldog, just all Catahoula Leopard..... but she has Kennel cough and is being treated for it. Other than that, she checks out great. Thanks again to everyone, we are very happy with her! Best, Melissa, Tony, Christian and Tony Jr.
