Description:
George is a big black cat who has all the adventure he needs in one lifetime! He and his sister Lulu were rescued from the woods by one of Judy's dear friends. According to him, "George showed up in the woods behind our house. We heard him a few days before we could coax him to come to us. When we found him he was very clean and had few fleas. He wasn't very thing but a little. He likes to talk and is a big eater. We've had him for about two weeks and he's nearly doubled in size. He will probably be a very big boy. His hair as a little tint of red when he's in the sunlight. George is very calm, lets you pick him up and loves attention. My guess is that the two of them and perhaps siblings were dumped by the roadside in a non residential area behind us. They have obviously been handled by people and aren't afraid. They are a little more skeptical of other animals but tend to warm up to them after some time. "
I love big cats. My Baranov is 17 pounds and startles all of our guests when he saunters into the room. You'll love watching George startle your friends too!

Volunteer Update 8/18:
I fell in love with George this weekend.
As you know, we have a disproportionately high number of black cats in our care right now and, as ashamed as I am to admit this, I can't always tell them apart. So I was at the sink, washing some food bowls with Lantz on one side and Mushy Midnight playing in the water on the other, and when I turned around, there was yet another black cat at my feet. I said "Hi there! Who are you?" He said "Purr." I noticed he had a white band around his neck, so I looked and I said, "Oh! You're George! Nice to meet you, George." In response, George hopped up on top of one of the big litterboxes and gave me a purring headbutt.
I can never resist the purring headbutt.
He followed me around for the rest of the day. It was like, "Hey! You know my name! Will you be my best friend?" It was so cute.

11/4/08 Volunteer Update-
George is the best cat ever. No, seriously. When it comes to unconditional love, you can't beat George!
