Description:

Rizzo loves to play ball.  She is getting more comfortable with us and has become a staff favorite.   She enjoys sitting with her person, so she would be fine as the only pet.   Please come into our facility to meet Rizzo or foster/adopt, take her for dog for a day.   You will enjoy spending time with her.   She loves her backside by the base of her tail rubbed, she will bond to you automatically if you do that to her.   You cannot help falling in love with her when she looks at you with those big beautiful brown eyes.

How could anyone walk away from these sweet and longing eyes?  Her family returned her today because Rizzo cannot live comfortably with their 2 yr old child. She does ok with older, considerate children:)  This sweet girl was panting and shaking after her human family left her here at the shelter. Other than being at PRBJ when she was a tiny puppy, Rizzo has lived a normal life in a home with people who loved her.
Rizzo is very gentle in nature and prefers a calm environment. She is potty trained, good with cats, good with most dogs, and loves the park. The only thing she does not like is loud noises (thunderstorms). Our hearts are breaking for her as she stares up at us with those big sad eyes. Please fill out an application to meet her and be her forever home.

5/3 Volunteer update: Rizzo is fine with dogs here at the adoption center and regularly goes out with Raguel in playgroup. When first meeting new canines, Rizzo may growl at them, but then goes on her way.  Rizzo would be happy as the only dog in the home or with another calm, submissive canine buddy. She may be overwhelmed by lots of company and visiting dogs, so a quieter home without lots of visitors/dogs coming in and out would be best.  Rizzo loves to play ball and hang out with us at the center and is a real sweetie!
