Foster Update 11/19/11: Alexander is a very sweet and loving kitten. I've nicknamed him and his brother (Troy) "rabbits" because their fur is so soft and they have large paws. While not quite a lap cat yet, we are definitely working on it. He absolutely adores being petted and will usually pace back and forth in front of you to get all the petting he can. He still loves to have his ears massaged and will almost pass out with delight during it. It's quite amusing to watch. He also has one of the loudest purrs I have ever heard. You will definitely know when you've hit the right spot. He likes to start out the evening sleeping on the bed, but usually by the morning he has found a nice warm spot under the bed. He likes to be in the same room as you so he will follow you as you go from room to room. He gets along well with other cats and loves playing with his foster brothers and sister. He has a close bond with his brother and usually where there is one, you can find the other. His favorite toy is a fuzzy mouse but he can find amusement in any toy. Alexander recently spent a few hours at a friend's house and I am very encouraged by how well he did there. He only hid for a bit and was soon out and exploring. He ended his visit by climbing up on the bed, stretching out on my friend's chest and falling asleep. Another exciting development in Alexander's progress was while I was sitting on the floor this week petting him. He actually climbed into my lap on his own. I was petting him and massaging his ears to distract him, but that was a huge step forward. I hope you will consider adopting Alexander. He's a great kitten and I believe he would be a excellent companion if you are willing to spend the time to show him how important he is to you.

 

Alexander is a very sweet and loving kitten. He was found as a stray kitten, so he still has some trust issues but once you gain his trust watch out, he will be all over you for love. He enjoys being petted but he really loves to have his ears massaged. He is also fond of rolling around and rubbing on your feet. That being said, he is not a needy kitten and can entertain himself as well. He loves wrestling with his brother and foster brothers and sister. Fuzzy mice are his favorite toy but he can make anything fun. When not playing, Alexander is a very calm kitten and you won't find him in the high up places kittens aren't supposed to be in.
He isn't keen on being held, but we are working on it. We have made some progress, it's slow, but I am encouraged. Please don't let that discourage you from considering Alexander. Maybe you will be the one that that can help him enjoy being held.
