Foster Update 6/10 - Wylie is the neighborhood favorite, he loves to walk up the street and play with the neighbors. He hasn’t met a dog he doesn’t like, even dogs 10 times his size, loves to roll in the grass and explore. He’s totally packed with personality! He follows you wherever you go, he comes when called, he’s housebroken, he is definitely ready for a fun family. I have even ridden my bike up and down the street and the little guy loves to run behind, full out. His brother Werner, does that some, but when he’s done, he finds the shade.
Wylie can be calm and reflective, and really loves to sit quietly with his human before bedtime. He’s very much the lover, even though he’s a rough and tumble puppy. He’s the first to race to people for love, he entertains and plays with the children on the street. The adults can’t get enough of his playful antics either. One neighbor took dozens of photos of Wylie and his brother Werner, just because they were so cute!
Whomever adopts this little guy is getting a treasure. He’s happy, playful, and attentive. I think he’ll be a breeze to train because you will always have his attention and he’s very eager to please. He’s also very comfortable with the crate, when he’s ready to nap he finds his bed in there.
Wylie, his brother Werner and there mom Willa all came from animal control. They were looking for a rescue to take this cute little family before there time was up....were hoping to find them all wonderful homes!
*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
