Description:

The most perfect home for Spike would be one where he has a lot of interaction with people. In particular, he likes racing around the house chasing a laser dot. He also acts ecstatic when brushed.  His foster home is full of toys, and has several places to look outside. Spike occasionally plays with Bear.  However, Spike frequently demands human attention by rolling around on the floor, smacking his foster Mom's leg, or throwing himself on the floor in front of her as she is walking.  He's been very gentle with his foster parents.  They've given him many belly rubs and brushed him while he wiggles around, but he's never clawed or nipped, even by mistake.  He roughhouses with Bear, and smacks him when he's irritated, but was always gentle with Cream Puff (Adopted). Spike would be best placed in an adult only home or at least a home with older children as he does get stressed at Oviedo Mall when young children try and pick him up and pet him heavy handed!

Foster Update (5/29/11): The Dynamic Duo were so cute the other day - I came home to find them curled around each other in the rocking chair.  They quickly disengaged before I could get a photo.  Bear in particular is a Velcro cat, who often follows me from room to room.   He often sleeps curled up on top of a chair in the living room to hang out with us during the day. Sometimes Spike lies next to my pillow and kneads it, purring, for several minutes at a time.  Both of them seem to enjoy stepping on the buttons of our safe, which makes them go "beep beep."  Every evening when it starts to get dark, they sit next to each other and stare at us, waiting to play laser dot!

Foster Update (5/17/11):Update on the 3 mus-cat-eers:
The boys play chase and wrestle every morning.  Then they hug each other, and lick each other's faces.  Spike is trying to teach CP to play "chase."  He hides behind something until she gets curious, and comes over to investigate.  Then he jumps out and chases her!  Don't know how far he'll get with this - it's been a long time since she was a kitten.  Also, I think Kevin is mistaken about her weight loss.  Now that she's chummy with the boys, she steals their food.  So I think she's regained all the weight.  She resembles a round white pillow, stuffed with ball bearings.

 

Foster Update (5/10/11): Everyone is doing well.  All 3 play together now; CP can keep up with the boys chasing balls, string, or red-dot.  She doesn't wrestle or play tag with them.  Bear is becoming assertive.  He's right there demanding attention whenever I pet one of the others or try to take a photo.  I didn't leave them enough food one night, so he tore open a bag of catfood.  Everyone likes to be brushed, and all enjoy belly rubs.  One night, both boys decided to sleep with us, which annoyed CP.  She came up with the bright idea of sleeping on the pillow above my head, which was a surprise when I woke up the next morning!  Bear was so "into" wrestling with Spike this morning that Kevin had to distract him, because Spike was a little overwhelmed, and wanted to stop playing.  CP doesn't respect Bear; she told him 2x she wanted to share his food, and when he just kept on eating, she slapped him gently across the face!  She has a crush on Spike, and sometimes trails him and rolls upside down to get his attention (although he sometimes tries to steal her diet food).

 

I just wanted to tell you a little more about my two boys so you can have a little story to go along with there profiles. Bear (the black one) is definitely the one the loves to cuddle. He's a lap cat. As for Spike he has the coolest personality he will talk back to you and even do small tricks if bribed with food.
I just have to say that it broke my heart to have to give these guys up they were the perfect pets anyone could ask for! My daughter Lillian absolutely adored both of them and I'd like to think that they enjoyed her as well. If she didn't develop an allergy to them we would have never had to give them up. I have fond memories of her and my husband playing with the laser pointer and the cats chasing it around. In fact they were so intrigued by it they would run around in circles chasing it until they were so dizzy they were falling over.
