Description: Buster and Roxy are two great declawed cats deserving a great home. Buster is a long haired orange male, about 18 pounds. Roxy is a female, shorthaired gray tabby, about 15 pounds. Their owner passed away due to cancer a year ago and they were taken in by a friend. Who knew he was allergic to cats!?! Certainly not him! Poor Jeff has tried everything, and I mean everything. I've gotta share with you this part of his e-mail because it made me laugh:
"I actually did ALLOT of research on this, and tried the baby wipes, they also make an "anti allergin wipe" at Petco, also tried the sprays on their fur....Went and tried to have them shaved, she loved it, he wouldn't let them near him with the clippers LOL.. then did allergy shots for 6 months, thought we had it but then the allergies broke out again and went on allegra D ( a second time after the shots), been on that for over a month now and last week it began to fail so I boost it at night right now with benadryl.....
I vacuum every day, wipe down the furniture everyday, but if I brush them I am all done, its benadryl and bed..its not fair to them that I can't brush them and love on them the way they deserve...I can pet them and wash my hands, but Buster likes to curl up with me in bed against my stomach and Roxy take the back of my knees, then I roll over and she is at the front and he is at the back...Needless to say I wake up hoarse, puffy eyed and I feel like the beach is in my eyelids. A friend suggested I close my bedroom door to them, I can't do that....
I have had them a year in September, was hoping that I would just develop a tolerance to the allergy but I wake up exhausted and have the constant feeling like I have a hairball on my tongue ...
I did not come to this choice lightly and it really breaks my heart, I can't bring them to a shelter..I'd rather blow up like a balloon and itch away first.
I did ads, emails to friends and groups with no luck...My friend adopted two cats from your group in the past and she reminded me of you..So this is my last ditch effort.
I feel like a horrible person, I tried making it up to them by buying toys and such LOL, spoiled kids they are LOL, but in the end I know what needs to happen.
I thank you for your help with this not so easy task."
OK, we gotta give the guy credit for trying!!! He says Buster and Roxy are very friendly, loving and gentle, declawed in the front, and come fully loaded with treats, toys, litter box, food, cat tree, bowls, etc. Surely we can find a a great family for them. They, and Jeff, deserve it!
