Description:
This beautiful Siamese mix came in with her companions, Blaze and Sir Dash when their owner passed away. Now she is looking for another home to start afresh. Blair is shy when meeting new people but she will soon warm up, especially when tempted with treats!
9/5/11 Foster Update: While Sir Dash settled in nicely with me and Barton very quickly, I was a little concerned about Sir Dash's interaction in the house the first month he was there. Even after much encouragement, he was not willing to come out of the bathroom at all. Granted, I think he will eventually come around and explore the house, but it quickly became evident that it would take a few months, rather than my allotted few weeks to make this happen. What's funny is that he isn't scared or even that shy anymore, he just likes what he has. I think Sir Dash's motto is, "If it's not broken, why fix it?" Haha. He had his treats, pets and food in the bathroom and that was just fine with him. The only reason this was a bit of a concern is that we took him in as a companion for Miss Blair for the month we were gone and she was in the living room on the other side of the house. As I left for Italy, it became sort of an, "oh well" situation. It wasn't what I had hoped for the two of them, but at least I knew they were happy and healthy.
Well, over the past week I have been gone, Sir Dash has still not come out of the bathroom, but Miss Blair has moved it! She apparently gets right up there in the bathroom sink with him! She eats out of the same food dish and uses the same litter box! It is such a riot. I guess ol' man Dash got more than he bargained for after all. Now he has his food, treats, pets AND his lady friend with him. So cute! :-)
7/19/11 Foster Update: Blair has now been with us for 6 months. She is so adorable and dainty. You would never believe that she is 13 years old. She gets around the house great, has not shown any sign of healthy issues and has a perpetual kitten face!
She gets along with other cats and dogs as long as they don’t bother her. She would prefer a home with older animals that would allow her to quietly sleep and get her ”pets.”
Evening is her prime time. She comes out from her sleeping/hiding place about 7PM and starts meowing (which sounds more like a chirping) while she looks for a lap. She will sit with you as long as you will let her. She does have a habit of drooling when she is very happy, though, so look out for the water works! I just think it makes her more endearing.
She isn’t picky about food and doesn’t do a tremendous amount of playing. She is extremely low
maintenance and such a sweet girl. She deserves a great home to live out the rest of her days.
Blair qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors program! If adopted by a senior (55+) her adoption fee is $25.
