Hunter is an energetic loving youngster. He is very unusual looking with marvelous brindle coloring. He was adopted from us last summer when he was Houston the puppy, and returned in December. Actually, it's worse than that ~ the owner took him to animal control!!! That makes us steaming mad! Fortunately he was microchipped, so animal control knew to call us. The owner didn't want him any more because he'd moved in with his mother and Hunter was too energetic. Well, it is obvious to us that this person fell in love with a puppy but didn't take the time to train and work with him, so now that all that joy and energy is packaged inside a full-grown body, well, he is no longer wanted! That is just wrong! Hunter is a great dog, a bit of a talker, needing a home that will love and train him!
His foster family sent this update: "We've only had Hunter for a couple of days and he's already made himself at home. He's incredible sweet but he needs to go to a home that is going to be dedicated to training him. Since we got him we've been working on training him not to jump on people and to walk nicely on the leash. It's a work in progress but he's a quick learner. He has a ton of energy and I think he would be a great sporting dog, he loves playing ball, I haven't tried a frizbee yet but I'm pretty sure he'd love that too, and he would probably be good at agility. Or even if you just want a running partner. I run and I've taken him with me. At my sprint he's just doing a jog! Basically this guy needs a job to do. He loves to play with our 7 month old puppy, but he's quickly learned that our two older dogs don't want to play with him. Esentially Hunter is just a hyper little puppy inside an adult dog's body. One more thing, he loves to talk. As I'm writing this he's running around the house barking because someone in our neighborhood just closed a car door. He's a good watch dog.
Well I hope somebody adopts him, he's a really special dog."
Oh, and the video is from when he was just a puppy ~ I left it on the page because I like it!!!
