Papito's sister, Pippa (adopted) can also be seen on our website.
Description:
Dog for a Day update October:
Papito is a fun loving young pup at heart. He was so obedient and easy going yet excited for his walk. He loved watching the squirrels and lizards run by him. Several other bicyclists and walkers passed us on the path, and it didn't bother him at all! He loved walking but equally loved stopping for a quick rest on the bench. Papito is a sweet boy and is going to make the perfect addition to someone's family!
September Foster Update:
Papi is a good boy and loves attention. He has quite a smile! It can take him a little while to warm up to new people but once he does, he will just want more attention from you. I don't recommend him with kids or cats. He likes nylabones and rope toys. I think if somebody had the time and patience, he might be good at frisbee. He is really fast and has a lot of energy. We have several other dogs at our house and he does fine with them but when he is tired he can get a bit grumpy. He likes his space then. He is not an apartment dog as he can get very vocal during thunderstorms. He loves meal time and he loves doggy treats.
June 1 Foster Update:
Papi loves people and loves to know what is going on. He follows my husband everywhere and cries when he goes outside. He has started playing with toys, shaking towels and just being overall more energetic and playful. No more belly band! He does not like thunder, and his first reaction is typically to bark at it. I do recommend they be fed only Loyal Life dry food as that seems to best agree with them. His personality is coming out more and more each day he is with us.
May 24, 2018 Foster Update:We have been fostering Pippa and Papito "Papi" for just over a week now. Their tails are wagging all the time! They are happy and full of kisses and so thankful to be in a house and getting attention. Now they just need their furever home! They were a bit cautious when they first arrived, more so Papi and more so with men. There was a bit of barking but they quickly figured out that petting was involved and attention! They sleep together in a large crate. They sleep all night and are quiet until they are let out of it in the morning, despite some of the other dogs in the house not always being quiet! Pippa has a bit of a sensitive tummy and does best just being on dry food with no changes and no wet food added. We have 4 other dogs in the house and other than the (rare) sibling rivalry, all is well. We do feed everybody separately. They do not chew on anything, they do not get into anything, which is awesome! The one exception we have found is the stuffing in a dog bed, but it had already been in progress of being unstuffed by another dog! We had a couple of little accidents at first but that is not unusual with a new dog coming into the house, especially the males who want to mark. We have been using a belly band on Papito when we cannot directly watch him, but I do not think it is an ongoing issue and he will not need it at all soon. If you are interested in meeting these sweethearts, please submit an application on the website. They are waiting to meet you!
Pippa and Papito, siblings, were both found as strays and taken to a very high kill shelter. They are so sweetand very much bonded. Both dogs go outside in a playgroup with some of our other dogs, and they are crate trained. If you are interested in them please put an adoption application in and you will be assigned a screener who will be in touch with you through email. Thank you from Pippa and Papito.
