Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Brutus the MinPin
Brutus the MinPin

Hi Amanda! Just wanted to let you know how Brutus is getting along and feeling these days. He has been to the vet and has had a whole gambit of testing,x-rays, blood work, etc. He was wobbly about a week ago and I rushed him to the vet and they hooked him up to the Electrocardiogram and said he has a grade 3 murmur (which we knew). I thought I was going to lose him and it was unbearable, since I just got him to love. Anyway, he made it through the night and the vet said he had such Periodontal Disease that it was making his murmur worse; We decided to go ahead and start antibiotics and then remove only the very bad and unsavable teeth. The bad news is he lost seven, but the good news is that his murmur is now completely gone! He has another two weeks of antibiotics and a post-op check on 3/28, but is doing fabulously. The vet said he has the best blood work around=) He does have bilateral hip displasia and does wear a belly-band inside since he insists on marking everything(even when taken out every hour)! He's quite the little sprite and we love him so much, he's a true blessing. He also has a congenital condition in his left eye that is actually eating away his eye (some type of tumor)and he will eventually be totally blind since he does use what vision he has only in his left eye. We're still working on the video for you and our backyard will be fenced in within the next week or so and we'll be sure to include "Mr. Houdini" out and about sleeping in the grass=) Thanks again for all you do and for allowing us to adopt Brutus- he's the best! Love, Kelly & Family
