Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.  And while you're here, enjoy this lovely video created by Jade, one of our teen volunteers ~ such talent and such a heart!

Henry the Clever Fox Terrier
Henry the Clever Fox Terrier

Henry has been so amazing and I love him to death. I have been training him and he's gotten so good. He's so smart and loves being trained. He knows sit, up, crawl, down, high 10, high 5, paw, and roll over down pat. I'm working so hard on the come and stay part. He's a great dog and a good companion. He actually gets jealous when you're paying attention to someone else and not him. He'll bring you his toys and whine at you when he wants to play. At night when he's calming down he just likes to lay down next to you. He's such a cutie when he sleeps. It's hilarious because he makes all these crazy noises when he's pretty much passed out. It's almost like he's groaning. I am so glad that I adopted this dog. He's so wonderful and I just can't imagine my life without him. He's my little baby now. Thanks Judy for everything! -Katelin

Molly the Senior Bombay
Molly the Senior Bombay

Hello Stephanie! I thought you would like an update on Miss Blackie. She's calmed down considerably since our first noisy nights. She spends most of her time sleeping on my bed but also comes to watch TV with me. She's a wonderful companion and I am so happy to have her in my life. I am enclosing some photos that Irina took of us. Thank you for all your help. Sincerely, Don

Alastor the Puppy
Alastor the Puppy

Hi Everyone! I adopted Alastor (I call her Allie) a few months ago and I just recently got a new battery for my camera and wanted to send you some pictures. She is doing so well, we are doing training together at Petsmart and she learns so quickly. The trainer calls her "wigglebottom" because when she gets excited her whole body moves from wagging her tail and she'll continue to wag her tail just as vigorously even when she's in a sitting or laying position. Its very cute. I hope to do the "Good Citizen" test with her when we finish training. Thank you so much for everything you do for these wonderful animals. Michelle Lee

Patriotic the Puppy
Patriotic the Puppy

Just thought you might like to see how “Veteran” aka Woody looks like these days. This past Sunday he and his brother, Dylan, (‘Patriotic’) turned 5 months old! They are great dogs, great, great pets, and wonderful brothers & buddies to one another. No fighting between them at all – only “play fights.” They are the most loving, playful, funny and outgoing dogs imaginable! Woody (‘Veteran’) now weighs about 40 lbs (he will be a big boy) and Dylan ( ‘the runt of the liter’) weighs about 32 lbs – still smaller but he holds his own with Woody in their wrestling matches. We think they are beautiful and so do all who meet them. They are also so very sweet to all dogs, children and people they meet. They are also both very, very smart! They love everything and now they are really enjoying the cooler weather! They go on two long walks everyday with my wife and have a huge back yard to play in. Obviously, we love them! ~Aaron and Donna R.

Sheska the Kitty
Sheska the Kitty

We are so happy to have Leo and Sheska. It appears they never forgot each other. We have changed Sheska's name to Peanut because she's so tiny. Leo's name is still Leo because it fits him. Leo the lion. Both kitties are so sweet and very playful with each other. Our other 3 kitties love watching them chase each other and play. I am attaching some photos of Peanut. I keep trying to catch them together but they move so fast. LOL! ~ Wendy Wayne
