Gali the Baby Jack
Gali the Baby Jack

Lucy (formerly Gali) seems to be very happy in her new home. She is quite the cuddler and loves to be close. She also is learning to sit, release her ball/toys during play and has taken to walking at heel on the leash quite naturally. I think we really overtired her on Saturday, as she ended up falling asleep in Christine's lap on Saturday night. I took her out every four hours just to make sure she wouldn't have any accidents, and she did her business just fine. She did whine a bit on Saturday night, probably missing her siblings, but I put a treat in her cage, didn't make a big deal about it, and she munched on it and quieted down. I also turned on a nightlight for her, which also seemed to help ease any anxiety. On Sunday, literally woke her up (!) at 430 (she really didn't want to get up at first, and I had to get down and pick her up to bring her out) and so today, let her sleep in until 530 when I got up, and she seemed to be a lot happier. She didn't eat a lot on Saturday night or Sunday AM, but chowed down on Sunday night and this AM. We couldn't find cocoanut oil (the stuff at our Publix resembled Crisco) so we spritzed on a very small amount of olive oil with a mister, and that seemed to make her very happy. She was pretty tuckered out last night, and "slept in" from 11 on. She also took to her new crate, bed, toys and surroundings pretty much right away. We introduced her and our bunny, and I think she thinks the bunny is a puppy and wanted to play. Bunny was a bit standoffish and thumped, and she took that quickly as he wanted to be left alone. She's doing great and is very playful, friendly and VERY smart. Thanks again, Brian
