Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Zelda
Zelda

Well this is our first day home with our new girl Zella (formerly Zelda). Bob was a little reserved at their meeting, and the 1 1/2 hour drive home was a little intense keeping one in the back seat and one in the front, but when we got home, all fears vanished. We were out of the truck and running, biting, jumping, and non-stop playing to the point it was "Alright already, STOP". This is a girl that literaly wears her heart on her shoulder (I'm not sure if anyone noticed her heart shaped spot on her shoulder) but the moment I saw that she had my heart zipped up. Day two has started a little shakier, Bob and Zella I think are both a little sore after their hard day of play. Bob looked at me last night when he got sleepy as if to say "ok mom, take her home now, I'm tired". This morning when she was still here, I think it is slowly sinking in that she is at home. We found out that Zella is not overly cat friendly, or she is overly cat friendly and Mr. Whiskers just did not understand her intentions when she was running him out of the county. He hasn't come out for breakfast yet, but I'm sure he'll get hungry soon and get over it. We have a little work to do. Thank God animals are much more forgiving than people and learn to live in the moment, and are much more willing to work at breaking bad habits. I'm sure in time he will win over her heart also, if not, at least he will work off the huge stomach he has by getting exercise staying away from her. Will give you an update on how they all blend soon. Thank you for saving Zella, she is a wonderful addition to our family and will be loved and cherished for the sweet girl she is. ~ Meghan S.
