Midnight the Declawed Bombay

Hi Catherine and Happy New Year to you too! Midnight is doing very well and has adapted to his new home better than we expected. He has moved in as though he has lived here forever. Your early comments that he might be a bit of a biter were right on. Lilian and I both got chomped on until we learned his "tell". I am certain it wasn't aggressive, but just the way he reacts to our interactions. Now that we know what triggers it we have been able to get him to stop. It also helped to increase his play time. He has a VERY favorite toy - a sort of "bird on a stick", that will keep him engaged until he runs out of energy. He definitely DOES bite the "bird". Most of the time he simply acts like a cat. He likes to be near us, but not on us. He isn't a lap cat. He is more like a dog in that he likes to be next to us and be petted. I have attached a couple photos from this weekend. In one he is in his favorite place doing his favorite thing - napping. In the other he decided sleeping on my grubby, and probably stinky, old work shoes was just the ticket. Thanks for checking in.
