I wanted to touch base and update the wonderful lady who fostered the litter. I can't find her email address so could you forward this to her? Hi! Been a while. Dorie's doing great. She just finished beginner obedience and we're still working on a few things that I'd like to have set in her memory a bit better before we start Intermediate. We go to the park daily and we're working on this "thing" where she just absolutely NEEDS to chase squirrels. Half the time I don't even see them and she's on point. She's outgrown several collars and we're on a bigger seat belt harness now. She really is an odd mix. She can't decide if she's a scent hound, water dog, sight hound, etc. Seems she has all in equal proportion. One of the things we're working on now is her barking. For the longest time she never barked. Then one day out it came. As she's grown, the bark gets bigger. Now she really sounds like a big dog! But I can't say its all her fault. ;) There was a rabbit that lives in a corner of the yard in a wood pile. Dorie never messes with the rabbit there. But every night about 11PM the rabbit can be seen bouncing down the driveway on the other side of the fence from Dorie. THEN she barks! Oh and there's a couple cats, opossums, a raccoon or two, and who knows what else that strolls through the yard. She's even found a couple of snakes! VERY distinctive snake bark. She doesn't hurt them...she just stands and barks at them and pounds the ground to make them move. I've seen her stand there and let the snake crawl between her legs to get away. Non-poisonous of course, typical gardener's snakes. Oh, and she loves to go to the Pet Store! Not because of the foods and other dogs but because most of the staff now know her and she gets lots of attention. She just runs in, flops over to receive her belly rubs, and sort of goes into this trance. Then she proceeds to try to convince them that THEY are the ONLY ones who give her pets and treats...she's such a little liar! :) We still haven't settled on a "big dog" food yet. Oddly, and I've used these brands before, almost every vegan or organic food I try gives her massive gas or her poop is the size of something from a Great Dane! Next bag is Purina One. Fingers crossed! Hope this news finds its way to you and you are well. I can't find your email address so sent to Info address for Pet Rescue by Judy in the hopes you would get it. Hope Dorie's mom is still doing well. Sandy
