Babs the Chi/Pug
I wanted to write and give you an update on our adorable dog! We adopted Babs from you in the winter, February I believe. She had a terrible case of kennel cough for the first two weeks we had her. She wouldn't eat or drink for a few days. I had to feed her chicken broth off my fingers and thank god we found out about Nutrical - she survived off that for about a week. She lost over a pound, and for her size, that was a lot.
Despite this rocky beginning, she has grown into a delightful dog that's a wonderful part of the family. We renamed her Lemon... due to two factors. One, my husband is a cook and we wanted a food name... and two, Florida's lemon law. It's a joke. And we call her Lem or Lemmie for short. ;)
She's such a sweet sweet dog. If I sit down, she's instantly on my lap. She loves people and other dogs, sometimes too much! We're trying to get her to like Baby, (formerly Tilly the kitten) but they get along like, well, cats and dogs! We taught Lemon some tricks. She can sit, stay, come, go to bed, lay down, get off, and give me paw. Some with more consistency than others. She'll ALWAYS stay, but she won't always go to bed. Hehe. She loves ice cubes and her dentastix. She also chews anything. Her nylabones, her stuffed animals, 3 pairs of my flip-flops, my husband's crocs, the arm of my husband's chair.... But we've learned a lot, I don't leave my flip-flops around any more! Heh.
Baby is doing well also. She is SO talkative! She meows at us all the time, to tell us about her day. It's quite funny because she's a big cat and her meow is sooo squeaky and high-pitched. Baby's favorite toy is her little catnip filled fish. She also loves all my pens, and steals them regularly from my desk. She sleeps on the bed with us, sometimes on my pillow, and she thinks she's the queen of the house. And she is!
I wanted to thank you for Babs (and Tilly.) They are our kids, and we love them both dearly. They're both adorable and hysterical and we couldn't imagine having a better dog or cat.
