Almond the Chocolate Cocker

Hi Judy & Everyone, My name is Judy and I adopted Dutchess (Almond) about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I wanted to give you an update. We moved to the UP of MI several months ago to be with my family. I am assuming it was Dutchess' first contact with snow..she did great..just plowed her way thru, did her thing and was ready to head inside! I have been so amazed at her adjustment and personality growth since I've had her. She has become very trusting and loving, not only with me, but my family and even strangers! She adapted to our new home easily and had no hesitation in exploring the surroundings. I did have to have her shaved due to the mats she had developed and she would let me do many things, but brushing wasn't one of them. She had to wear a sweater for several weeks after. The groomer said she was an angel and well behaved...much to my relief. :-} I recently got a female kitten, Precious and she attached herself to Dutchess from day one. Dutchess is very kind and tolerant with her except when Precious bats her face with her claws..the she growls or snaps a warning. Which is good..the kitten needs boundaries. Dutchess still keeps track of where said kitten is most of the time and seems to accept her cuddling up at night on the bed. Dutchess has even started to initiate play with Princess (my Yorkie/SitZu) and yesterday the kitten. She likes her stuffed animals, but LOVES her balls...seems to pick one for the ball of the day. Needless to say, Dutchess has become the joy of my life and never have I regretted the decision to adopt her. I believe God guided us together. God Bless All YOur Wonderful Work, Judy --
