Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Waldo
Waldo

We made it through our first night and they did great. Those two kinda balance each other out, like ying & yang. We are all getting used to each other, but they love the back yard and checking everything out. When Judy gets settled into her new place we should stop by the dog park and say hi.

Willie the One Eyed Lover

hi, Willie is getting used to his new home very quickly. He and Sassy are getting along. Now Sassy has a partner in keeping watch for strangers :-) (check the pictures for that) I think we chose the right dog , he is fantastic. I hope we can make him very happy. Thanks Gemma M. F.

Winston Churchill the Labrador Retervier
Winston Churchill the Labrador Retervier

Winston's family are on holiday here and they brought us some pictures and updates. He gets along great with their other dog, a basset hound. Every morning, when Winston hears the "click" on the electric kettle, he runs into the kitchen and sits patiently while his dad makes them a cup of tea. That's right: Winston gets a bit of tea of his own. We were so happy to hear that Winston is doing well!

Wonton the Sharpei/Lab mix

Dear Rescue by Judy and Friends, I was just thinking about you so I thought I would give you an update. I like my new digs and I have just about got my new humans trained. I have a big back yard to play in and I patrol it every day to keep the cats, and birds and squirrels out. I do let my human come out and play if he has been a good boy. Most days I will take him for a good walk to help him get back in shape. They feed me well here. I weighed 52 pounds when I first came here and now I am up to 59 pounds. I remember when Judy and I were on that TV show she said I weighed about 40 pounds and I wouldn’t get much bigger. I guess I fooled her. Because Neil (my human) has been a good boy I am going to let him take me on a fishing vacation. We will be staying on a big lake with 12 humans and 4 dogs and will be going out in a boat to fish every day. I guess we will find out whether I am more Shar pei (hates water) or Lab (loves water) by the time we get back home. I think I will just take the best of both and be a very good Sharpador. I am enclosing one of my many photos to remember me by. Judy, thanks for rescuing me from the pound. As that dog commercial says I am a “Lucky dog, Lucky dog” Wonton

Wafer the Lab Puppy

Update 4/22/13: Hi!!!! Good morning! Chance is doing so great!!! He is a BIG BOY!!! Over 40lbs already! He is so loving and really smart! I am about to start taking him to training classes but he already knows how to stay, sit, lay down, give paw, etc. He has LOTS OF ENERGY and just loves to play especially with other dogs. I work away from home two days a weeks so I take him to a dog day care that is just wonderful! They send me pictures of him and tell me who his best friends are lol! It really is a great place! I have attached some pictures of him to this email! I love how you check in on him! Pet Rescue by Judy has been so wonderful and if I ever have a big enough yard to have more dogs I will definitely rescue another one from your program! Chance has been such a wonderful addition to our family and is LOVED so much by us! He is my little boy! <3 Thanks again! Christina Millet Hello, I wanted to write you to let you know how Wafer is doing since we adopted him last Sunday! First off let me tell you just how much we love him already! He is such a good puppy and his foster mommy did such a good job with him as it has been a very easy transition for us and our new puppy! My 4 year old decided to name wafer, chance. She loves the movie homeward bound so that is how she got it! Chance is now very comfortable at home plays a lot with Ashlyn (my 4 year old) and is spoiled already! I have introduced him to my two cats that are slowly but surely warming up to him and he has met my mom’s two dogs which he just loves to play with! Chance feels like he has been ours forever and we can’t wait for all the memories he will bring our family! Thank you for giving me a wonderful experience that my daughter (chance is her first dog) will cherish for a life time! You all have been great! Attached are some pictures of chance(wafer) in his new home. Please share with his foster mom! Thank you so much
