Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Willa the Mamma Lab

Collin, Just wanted to give you an update. I changed Her name to Willow. I like it better with Roco. Willow has adjusted pretty well and I think she realizes this is her permanant home. She is smart, playful, and very loveable. Now she's spoiled rotten. Roco also loves her very much and she does love him its obvious. She's the first one up in the morning and me and Roco hate that. The Vet says she is in great shape with good back hips. Her and Roc run about 5 miles on the bikes daily(almost). He's very competive and won't let her win. She loves to go places and with her bodyguard Roco she not as scared anymore. She has aslo learned how to take baths, brush her teeth and remain calm during her pedicures. She is always wagging her tail instead of tucking it under her legs. Also my loud voice doesn't bother her as much anymore. I am very happy with this Dog she is very much a permanent addition to this family. I and Roc can't thank you enough for this opporotunity. Thanks Nick

Wishbone the Min Pin
Wishbone the Min Pin

Hi Judy, Just wanted to pass along the great news we received this morning, Bennie is now heartworm free! His recent HW test came back negative and all the rest of his blood work came back with excellent results. Bennie's transformation was a fast one, he has been on the slow kill method for 1 year. It's a happy day! Hopefully, our story will help others make a decision to adopt a HW+ pup. Keep up the great work and thanks again for all you guys do! Best, Rachel & Todd

Wonka the Fuzzy Puppy

Just wanted you to know how amazing Wonka is doing. She has bonded with us and is acclimating to having a forever home with a big yard and screened in pool/patio. She is walking well on a leash, and is doing a fabulous job of housebreaking. We have our first vet appointment tomorrow to get her checked out from top to bottom. I hope you guys will not be too disappointed, but her new name is Lexi. We appreciate all that you do...

Whiskey the Hound Puppy
Whiskey the Hound Puppy

Just wanted to let you know how much of a joy Whiskey is to us. He really is a well behaved puppy- no accidents in the home. He loves the dog park but made me a little nervous at first, he really likes the big dogs that he can run with. He wasn’t too keen in the small dog area- I think he thought he was a big boy.!!! Funny to see one day where a mud puddle was created by the dog shower and several dogs got really muddy, but Whiskey jumped over the holes and did not get one mud spot on him- people were so jealous of him!! He had his third booster shot and the vet gave him an A+ for health-all the girls in the office fell in love. He has only one fault we found- he likes to beg when we eat, so we have learned To put him in his crate while we dine and he is so quiet- I know he knows we will let him out when we finish. We are trying to come up with a way to deter him from this habit. He is not much for chewy bones but loves squeak toys, so they keep him entertained And he has not one time tried to chew any furniture. He will have a pampered life and our love for him is shown each day. Please let the young lady in your adoption office know that he really is living a good life. Thanks again for all your help. Cheryl

Winnie the Golden Retriever
Winnie the Golden Retriever

Hello, I wanted to share with you the success of Winnie the Golden Retriever we adopted on November 14, 2009. We did change her name to Haleakala (a volcano on Maui) and we call her Halea. She has adjusted extremely well to our home and loves our other golden retriever Jack. Yesterday, Halea completed phase I of her training school and was given her certificate of completion! She will begin phase II of training later this month. She knew not even how to sit when we got her home and now my 5 year old niece who was over last night was giving her commands and she was listening. Halea has brought much joy to our house and we can't imagine someone giving this dog up. She is very strong willed and smart and learns so quickly. My husband and I truly feel it was fate to get this dog. She came to us heartworm positive and our vet treated her within the first few weeks. He was rather kind to us and he knew we adopted her knowing she was heartworm positive so he made it very affordable to treat her. She will get follow up tests in a few months. Thank you for choosing us to give Halea a new forever home! We truly had a Golden Holiday in our house! Sincerely, Jennifer & Derek DiPasquale ps..in the picture Halea is on the right!
