Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Taisy the Beagle

Hello Pet Rescue by Judy! Just wanted to write and tell you how in love with Daisy, formerly "Taisy", we are. She is a wonderful, sweet dog and we are so happy to have made her a part of our family. She has made herself right at home, and is even getting along nicely with our cat, Nero. Everyone who meets her comments on how loving she is. Thank you for taking such good care of her until we found her! Thanks! Mary and David

Thomas the Lab Puppy

Dear “Pet Rescue By Judy” staff and volunteers, Thank you so much for rescuing our precious Barkley, formerly “Thomas the Lab Puppy”. We were running some errands at the Oviedo Marketplace back in February of this year and we were surprised to see that you had a location there so we went inside just to check things out. We already had two older Beagles so we weren’t looking for a new pet but when we met Barkley he won our hearts completely. Thank you for making sure we didn’t make an impulsive decision by asking that we bring our other dogs and all of our family members to meet him and to make sure that he would be a good fit for our family. We have never regretted his adoption and we feel so lucky that he is with us. Barkley gives great cuddles to anyone who wants to love on him and we are lucky there are five of us because he loves to be loved. Even our Beagles who don’t cuddle each other will cuddle Barkley. Our male Beagle has been so happy to have Barkley as a playmate, they chase each other, play tug-of-war, and they play an interesting game of keep away with squeaky toys they love to compete for. He isn’t perfect, he has some separation anxiety issues and chews the inside mat by our front door whenever we’re gone for longer than he likes. So we buy cheap mats because it’s a small price to pay for a wonderful dog. Thank you for everything you do to help the pets you rescue. If Barkley could talk I’m sure he would tell you how thankful he is for what you did for him, but since he can’t, let us know if you’d like us to drop by so he can thank you with a few hundred licks. With much gratitude, David, Jacquie, Isabel, Ashley, Jay, and our pets Buffy, Ben, and Barkley

Tooney the Puppy

Hi, We adopted Sam & Stella back in January & wanted to give you a 'happy paws' update. The girls love their new fenced in back yard & are very found of chasing waves at Smyrna Dunes beach. The stinkers enjoy all wood & fabric products (chomp, chomp, rip, tear) so they are still enjoying the their cage at bedtime. Although, their affinity for furniture has been decreasing. Both are now a whopping 9 months old (all of the pictures attached are roughly 5 months of age except for image 100 which is approx. 8 months). They have a clean bill of health but are quite fearful of our vet who pokes & prods them :-) Those treats at the end of each appointment are well earned. Stella has just reached 65 lbs but the 45 lb rascal Sam rules the house! They have quite a nice muscle tone with their grain free food, Evo. Our destroyers' favorites are pig ears, rawhides, squeeky toys, sticks and their sisters' collars. Yes, collars make an extremely fun tug of war game. And, somehow the squeekies have survived an unexpected long life. Our mutt-ley crew very much enjoyed their vacation to the mountains for hiking this past spring. They learned that the mountains have new smells and we learned that short leashes work very well! We are thankful to have such great 'all-paw' family members! And, we hope that all of your rescues find good homes. Anita & Dave.

Todd the Lab Puppy

I just wanted to update you on the black Labrador puppy that I adopted from you in December named Todd. He is now called Pluto(renamed by my son), weighs 42lbs and his black hair is turning brown and wavy so we are not sure what he is mixed with. With the exception of having to go to the vet due to tape worms which he is on medication and doing great. We also found out that his system can't take the Iams food(the hard way)but he's been put back on his regular kibbles and bits and once again is doing fine. He loves to play, run around the house, play tug of war with his leash and ropes and unfortunetly chew on everything(which we are working on stopping). His best buddy is my 3 year old niece Taryn who loves to play with him when she comes around. He is loved by my family and friends and seems to get bigger every day. I hope you receive this email and the picture I have attached and that you know that Pluto is a very happy puppy and is being well taken care of. It was a good decision for my family to adopt him. The Vickers Family

Tasia the Whippet

My husband and I just wanted to let everyone know how well Tasia (now Vera) is doing. As you can see, her "big" brother Walter absolutely ADORES her and so do we! She loves running (at full speed!) at the dog park and is so well behaved. Everyone compliments how beautiful she is and we all love her to death. Thank you so much for bringing Vera into our lives!! Best, Sara and Ralph Patrello
