Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Toby the Labrador Retriever
Toby the Labrador Retriever

Hello all, We adopted Toby the Chocolate Lab last Saturday (3/12) and I just wanted to give you an update. He is AWESOME. We are so in love with this dog. He just wants to be loved on and play ball. Within 5 hours of being in our home he was asleep on the couch like a good boy. He is completely fine with our cats and other dog gets along with him just fine. Whoever owned him before did a great job training him. I just wanted the volunteer Chelsea (who adopted Toby's companion) to know we love Toby and he sure seems to love it here with us. Thank you Pet Rescue by Judy-- and a big Thank you to Katie who made the adoption process so smooth and pleasant!!! Sundai and Family

Tractor the Lab

Hello- Just want to send you a huge thank you and an update on Delilah (aka Tractor). She won over everyone in our family as well as several neighbors too! Delilah and Bear (who we adopted from you last year) have a great time playing together in the back yard. Delilah is such a super sweet lab who is so full of life and is always up for a game of fetch, chase or a splash in the lake. She is such a perfect fit in our family. We are so glad she found us:) Sincerely, Bear and Delilah's People -- Pamela

Tonya the Loving Unloved Lab

Hello Judy and friends, I’ve been meaning to send you a “success story” for a long time, but when I saw the picture of Jack “the Hairless Wonder,” I had to write. In October, 2008, we adopted Tonya, “the Unloved Lovable Lab” from PRBJ. She also had mange. She looked so sad, but imagine how much she must have been hurting! She was mostly red and naked from the chest down and had crusty sores all over her tail. But I only had to take one look in her eyes and knew we had to bring her home. With the help of the Ivermectin that Judy provided, some vitamins, good food and lots of love, she soon blossomed into the most beautiful dog! She loves to play with her sister, Daxi, whom we adopted that same weekend. To anyone who is considering adoption, please don’t pass Jack up just because of the way he looks. He will be a wonderful, loyal and appreciative forever friend to anyone who cares enough to give him the love he deserves! I’ve attached a picture of our two fur kids so you can see just how beautiful they are. Your friends, MJ & Maynard

Trixie the Silky Yorkie

I have attached a picture of my three. Trixie is first, followed by Judy in the middle. Both from Pet Rescue by Judy. Bandit in the background I have had since he was 14 months old. He too was a rescue, just not from a shelter. My spoiled three stooges.

Tinkle the Sweet and Gentle Lab
Tinkle the Sweet and Gentle Lab

We fostered Tinkle for a few weeks before realizing she was a perfect fit for our family! When I saw her at the shelter at 4 months, she literally had to be picked up and carried because she was so shy. I brought her home, and she promptly ran into her crate where she remained until I went into the crate to get her to go outside! Over the next few weeks, Tinkle began feeling more and more comfortable and is now much more at ease and at home with us. She LOVES playing with the my other dog, and that is how they spend most of the day; chasing each other around! It was such a joy to see Tinkle wag her tail for the first time, lick my hand for the first time, etc. She is still very shy but feels right at home now on my bed, the couch etc. :-) We decided we had already found to her a home, and it was right here with us!
