Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Talbot

Hi Andra, We adopted Talbot back in late July from PRBJ and we just wanted to share how he's doing. His new name is Marshmallow and he is one sweet, smart guy! He already knew many basic commands and quickly established his reign as King of the house, much to Peanut's (our oldest dog) chagrin. But after a few weeks, Peanut and Jellybean were accepting of their new brother, sharing the couch with him, and engaging in rounds of chase in the backyard. Marshmallow is such a cuddle bug, and loves to bury himself under blankets. But his favorite position is curled up next to one of his humans. He's also quite the hunter and is working on ridding the backyard of lizards, one tail at a time. He also likes to protect us from the vacuum cleaner, biting it and growling at it anytime we clean. He has been such an amazing addition to our family... We are so thankful we found him! He's got a loveable personality and is truly a great dog. We love watching him interact and play with his sisters and we love having another cuddle bug to keep us warm. We're attaching a couple pictures... One showing who really owns the couch (all three dogs!) and an adorable close up of Marshmallow. Thanks for letting us share! And thanks for all you and the staff/volunteers at PRBJ do for the animals of central florida. Sincerely, Karen and Renee

Topaz

Janie- We adopted Topaz. His new name is Jack. He has found a loving little brother at our house! Please tell Dianne and Judy thank you for all the help;

Tank the Big Ole Boy

Wanted to update you on Tank. He is a wonderful puppy. He had his visit to the Vet last Saturday and she kept remarking on how beautiful his teeth were and how shiny his coat was. He weighed 98.9 pounds and was prescribed pills for his continuing heart worm treatment. He is learning what is acceptable to chew and what is not – he still isn’t allowed in my closet since he can’t resist my shoes. He saw some deer yesterday and barked like crazy, I think he wanted to play with them. We have learned that he likes to chase lizards. One of the pictures shows him standing staring in the bushes. He will stand like that forever waiting for a lizard to move so he can chase them. He seems to be as happy to be here as we are to have him and he has settled in nicely. Attached a picture of Tank’s new yard and a couple of him also. Thanks so much for saving this puppy so he could be part of our family. Thanks, Cora & Kenny Mahoney

Theodore III the sweet natured wheaton

Just a quick update on Theodore ( my last) I would like you to pass the attached photos on to Judy. Judy may like to know that, 5 weeks later T is a lap dog, wakes Kit up every morning by jumping on the bed and loving her, and now owns the place. His training goes well and his “mouthing” is 95% under control. He is a loving and very smart little dog. Knows sit, down and stay. Whistles up 80% (has a stubborn streak some times) We are working on heel and leash training. Once again thanks to everyone regards Ken
