Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Sky the Grey-Blue Puppy

We've had a busy summer traveling to our 26 acre staycation home in TN. But it has been delightful. I'm attaching a few pics. As you can see she has grown up considerably. She chased deer, bluebirds, and went blackberry picking with us. She picked her own berries, too. She is so loving and very smart. We call her the love sponge because she can't get enough of her people. We are continuing to work on obedience which is fairly easy since she loves to please. We can't imagine life without our Skye. However, she's definitely "Daddy's girl." LOL. We were glad she made is come in for nap time in the outrageous heatwave. She has several nicknames - Siesta Susie, Trunk Monkey, The Shadow, and Runway Model. She helped us enclose and screen a new back porch at the barn. We plan to go back north for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hope to experience her first snow.

Skyler the One-Eye Puggle

Skyler is a sweet little man. He was in the backyard not 30 seconds when he began doing huge Pug circles. It was so gratifying to see how he relished in the freedom of a good Pug circle. He and Missy, my other Pug, are already getting along well and are snuggling together for naps. At night he sleeps in the bed with me, curled up in a little ball. He settles right down and does not move until I get up. We are working on eating with others around and at set times during the day. We are making a lot of progress and he is a very fast learner. Skyler is still a little rough when playing and is a toy lover and destroyer. He has taken every toy out of the basket and carried them through out the house. The floor is littered with toys as he goes to search out the next one to carry around. He has also found the squeakers and the stuffing in a few :) I am so glad that Skyler came into my life. I am still hurting from the loss of my Wilson, but in getting to know Skyler and watch him blossom, I feel like Wilson's passing was his way of helping the next one-eyed Pug learn what life can be like in a home where there is constant love and affection and an endless supply of squeaky toys. Seeker the Siamese Kitten
Seeker the Siamese Kitten

Hello Jennifer. Again, I just want to say thank you. "Max" formally known as "Seeker the Siamese Kitten" is adjusting great. Everything he needed was already set up for him when we arrived home. I'm just getting to work (I had to spend a little more quality time with him before leaving). ;^) On the way home, he spend most of the ride sitting on my shoulder. From time to time, I will be sending you pictures and updates. My daughter is still out of town, I can't wait until she returns home and see the new "Max". Have a great day!

Sammi the Snowshoe Beauty

We are absolutely delighted to have found Sammi (now Mia) through Pet Rescue By Judy and want to thank Catherine and Jennifer for all their help and patience in answering the hundreds of cat questions that we had (I'm a first-time cat mom). Sammi has now been with us for 6 weeks and she has settled into her new home nicely. She has lots of favorite spots to lounge and snooze in and is still discovering new ones every day. She loves to play with little toys, like fake mice, and has had some encounters with real lizards in our enclosed pool area, which she proudly presented to us on the living room floor (still alive, thankfully). Sammi is a very gentle cat, never aggressive, always considerate. We couldn't have asked for a better cat and my husband and I lover her very much!!!

Smiley the FIV + Cat

We started fostering Smiley our friendly orange cat about a year ago. I was newly married and my husband was new to fostering. Smiley was drawn to my husband right away. Every time Jim sits on the sofa Smiley finds his spot right next to him. They are two peas in a pod. Jim gives Smiley back rubs every day. Some times when I am home I will notice Smiley pouting and then I realize his buddy Jim is missing and Smiley is very aware of it. Jim and I decided to adopt Smiley because he became a part of our family. We did have a lady want to adopt him one day. She went through the process took Smiley home with her but then decided he wasn't for her. The whole day he was gone was husband was a little sad so when that lady decided not to adopt him Jim told me he wanted to keep Smiley. I was very happy the way things turned out. Some animals just kind there ways into our hearts.
