Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Seal the Blue Puppy

Seal/Maximus is doing great! I couldn't of asked for a better pup! He goes everywhere with me, we are always getting into stuff. :)

Steeler the Australian Cattledog
Steeler the Australian Cattledog

Steeler had been with PRBJ for over a year before I found him through a volunteer. It's now been almost three years since my family adopted Steeler. It was evident from the beginning that Steeler was and continues to be "my" dog. He is my best buddy. I adopted him to be a real working dog for rounding up the cattle. The first time in the pasture he herded the cattle perfectly! Once Steeler got the cattle all to the trough, he got so excited that he jumped into the trough, scared the cattle, and they scattered! He went right back to work and successfully got them back to the trough. From the beginning, Steeler has been a great watch dog. Packages are delivered outside the gate of the driveway because the postal carriers don't have Steeler's permission to enter the property. Additionally, it's obvious someone trained him. I did not teach him but he knew sit, down, roll over, etc. He plays ball by bouncing the ball off of his nose and back to me. Also, if he is running full speed and I whistle, Steeler immediately stops and comes back to me. This is all without any training on my part. Steeler has plenty of other family members to choose from but he picks me. Steeler is one of kind. I will never find another dog as unbelievable as him.

Sebastian the Siamese Kitten
Sebastian the Siamese Kitten

Hi Just wanted to let you know Sebastian is just the most wonderful cat. He is going to be on the cover of Urban Pet Magazine, one of the early issues in 2013. I will send one to you. Thank you so much for letting me adopt this beautiful, sweet cat. Patti

Sandy the Wheaton Terrier Blend
Sandy the Wheaton Terrier Blend

Kelly Thanks for your assistance. We have Sandy all set up in her own crate and with the exception of a few nose bumps by our 'Second-in-command", Booger the Scotty everyone is doing well. She has excellent house manners and has figured out the dog door for coming in. She needs to be cued to go outside but I am sure she will figure it out. She heads for her crate on command and we are working on "down" and "sit". Harry our "special" dog who the other dogs ignored has actually played a little rough house with her. Thank everyone for their help and Kudos to you, Amanda and the young woman present during the adoption. Special thanks to Judy for all she does for the pooches.

Scion the loud Tortie Kitten

I have been trying to get a good photo of the girls together and finally got one. Both girls are exceptionally sweet and loving, but they are so different. Scion is outgoing, playful, interactive and loves kids. Waddles is more reserved, observing and loves to be with Scion. They are a great mix and are always together! Sincerely, Carrie
