Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Sassy the Siamese Kitten

Just wanted you to know what a sweet, beautiful girl Lilly is growing up to be.

Sprite the Kitten
Sprite the Kitten

OMG he is the sweetest little baby. He discovered the kitty room almost immediately . I have a large Condo Tower and next thing I saw him way at the top curled up like he belonged there. He is very lovable. He hisses, spits and growls at the dog and my Bella hisses at him but everyone is keeping their distance. Everything will be right as rain in a few days I am sure. I still feel such sorrow for the loss of my Jazpur last Monday but Sprite has me smiling again. My husband is a little over the moon too. I am so Thankful to you and that wonderful organization. From the bottom of my heart!

Sprocket the Lab Puppy

Colleen, Thank you so much for helping us provide a new home for Sprocket! He is everything we hoped for and we expect to share many memory-filled years with him. We will definitely keep you all posted on his adventures and recommend your shelter to anyone looking for a new companion. Thanks again! Tim & Jackie

Stella the SoCo Fire Terrier

Hi, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate Pet Rescue by Judy. Stella has been an absolute blessing to me. I sent an update when I first brought her home in August but I wanted to sent a quick video and recent picture. My father died Christmas Eve and I was obviously heartbroken. Stella has been an incredible comfort to me as I had to return to school and be away from my immediate family. She has learned to give paw, roll over, play dead and hold a treat on her nose till I say so. While she is initially scared of other dogs, she has made 2 good friends at the dog park and she plays several times a week with them. She had a small bout with her heart but I was reassured by the vet that she remains heartworm free and a short duration of diuretics should hold off any problems till she is older. And even better news: the vet told me a couple of weeks ago that she is finally at her goal weight! She brings me joy every single day and I am so lucky that Judy rescued her from the conditions in Georgia and gave her the best medical attention available.I will continue to stay in touch with her foster moms (Taylor and Daisy) and her "adopted brother" Roland (she's even had a doggie play date with him!). I can only hope that one day I'll be able to make a significant donation. In the meantime, please accept my sincere gratitude.

Sadie the Disney Kitten

Hi Catherine, Her name is tink now. But she is doing marvelously! She is learning to be a cat more and more everyday and getting stronger and stronger, faster and faster. She should be called ZIP, the way way she zips around the house when she is playing, goes up the furniture with the laser light, jumps from one thing to another. she cuddles closer and closer to my neck now and loves to lay on my chest and fall asleep. She is learning to play with with more and more toys, balls, tunnels, lasers, perches, Her favorite thing to do is to go for a car ride and go with me and go in the store and lay in the kiddy section of the cart on a pillow. People are astoninshed when they see that she is there and just sitting there, calm and collected and enjoying the trip and she lets everyone pet her. When i take her to the vets, she is just as calm and lays down and lets the dr do what he needs to do . She had both ears infected and inflammed , with yeast. She she was treated for that and today she was cleared so that I don't need to give her daily drops anymore. She also is on daily probiotics for 2 weeks to balance her digestive system due to her stinky gas. It seems to be working. She has a timed daily system to her play, cuddle, etc that she does. When she gets up up it is cat and mouse time. No cuddling. Then later cuddling. She is really funny and I love her to death. She does well by herself now and I stayed home 2 weeks so she would adjust, before I went out and left her. She ended up laying on top of the bed and was fine and was very glad to see me when I got home. My husband loves her too very much and plays with her more then I do, which brings me joy, becasue he needs l=to lighten up. she makes him laugh. I just wish that he would cuddle up to him more.......but he is at work all day. I will in clude some pictures that I have taken of her. I have gotten her a fish tank, small one, and she picked out the fish that she liked to follow. Nothing interesting to me, but she liked them. There are gohost shrimp which are nearly invisible, which she bats at, and today a striped tetra and amazon frog. She watched cat videos and loves to paw the screen while watching them . She is ahoot. Her meow is so soft, when she does, usually when she wants something. He favorite place to lay is on top of my hat, or on the foot on my recliner, pushing me out fo the way. She is a quick learner and is accomdating to anything I throw her way.
