Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Jeff the Irish Setter Blend

Well, we just love, love, love JASPER! Yes, we renamed Jeff and he already recognizes his new name. It has been two weeks and our lab/boxer mix Sophie is still working on the "warming up" attitude! But, no hostility - just jealousy occasionally. Jasper is a dream dog! In all the years we have had dogs, my husband has never had one that followed him everywhere and Jasper does just that! My husband is thrilled - he has always wanted a buddy. Jasper is so well trained, he is actually showing Sophie some "p's and q's" about behavior. We think we really lucked out and I think Jasper thinks so too! Funny thing though, we can't figure out what Jasper likes to play with. He loves chasing lizards in the yard, but not too interested in tug, or ball toss, or Sophie's favorite game of keep away. He loves his walks morning and night and he has found a favorite place to lay down...that would be at our feet wherever we are! Our Vet says he is in great shape - he had a minor procedure to help his scrotum heal a little faster. He as an ace at the Doc's and seems to like everyone he meets. He does bark to alert us of people nearby, but never with hostility. Just a "hi and I am so excited to see you!" kind of thing. I guess that is all - just wanted to know that we are so very happy we got accepted as his new parents. Here are two shots of him checking out our back yard, which he now knows by heart! Thank you for you help and tell everyone who cared for Jeff that Jasper is doing just fantastic!

Jasmine the Lover Declawed Girl

Rex caught Natasha sleeping in his office chair this weekend – a new favorite spot of hers to sleep. Thought it might bring a smile to you today! I never look at her without thinking about how grateful I am for your love and kindness that kept her content until we found her. Warmest regards, Kathy

Jake (Tiger) the Valiant

Good Morning, We LOVE Jake. He is very sweet. We have some hissing going on but no fighting. He slept with us last night and today we have locked in his own room. I think once everyone gets use to each other it is going to be great. He has a great personality. I am so glad we got to visit and see the real him. Thanks for all your help. It was worth the wait. He is already posing for pictures. We sent out a picture last night and everyone is excited to meet him!!

Jasper the Handsome Orange-Striped Boy

Hello there! I just wanted to give you an update on how Jammer is doing. He is getting more and more friendlyevery day! The last few weeks he has been a lapcat iwth us when we sit down to watch TV. He is also climbing our big, 85-lb. Doberman to say hello to him; our dog (Momo) doesn't know what to do with a cat perching his front paws on his back, so he just looks to us for guidance. It is pretty fun to watch him become more social towards people. And he still loves to play, Jasper being his favorite play-pal. He still loves to make a mess with the water bowls, too, what a clown! I've attached a photo of Jasper and Jammer here so you can see the two best friends at the bathroom sink. They are so funny. I have two baby gates up to allow our cats a place away from the dogs if they want that. These two use them as extra reasons to play hard, jumping over them as they tear back and forth across the house and batting at each other through the slats. Jasper also makes sure that I am OK. He follows me around the house and is right in front of me if I raise my voice at anyone in the house, acting like my own personal bodyguard! That's why I've nick-named him KGB (being a Siberian Forest Cat and all) and Attack Cat. He will get after the dogs, the other cats, and even my husband if raise my voice! If I am calm, he is best pals with everyone, but watch out if I get excited! I have taken him outside our front door a few times to meet my horse, and he was very interested ut was gladt to be back inside after a minute or two. Now he knows the smell of the horse when I come inside . Well, I have to go get more pet food for everyone. The cats love having wet food at night, it must be quite a treat! I hope you all have a nice remainder to your weekend!
