Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Huck

Huck is doing great, settling in, coat is getting all shiny, he loves the dog park. I modified his name to Tucker. My vet thought he was quite handsome. He has his Lake County tag and is legal. I want you all to know how much I appreciate all the effort that went saving Tucker.

Harley the Cocker Spaniel
Harley the Cocker Spaniel

Dear Colleen,

I managed to get the computer away from my humans. Hee Hee. I think my humans have a hearing or speech problem because the keep calling me “Bodhi€ now. They say something about it meaning enlightenment or awakening.  I don€™t like light or waking up and love to sleep in, but I think I will just go with it.  Daddy likes to sleep in too.

My first day was OK.  I think daddy has a problem standing because the first time he saw me sitting on the pool deck he almost fell over.  But he was smiling so I think he is OK.  They have a pool and they have little people that like swimming with me.  So I jumped in the pool and swam around a little bit.

Sunday I had to stay home for a little while by myself, something about Father's Day.  But thatâs OK, I got to go swimming with Daddy when he got back and we had a blast.  I think he went swimming with me because I was such a good boy.  What does that mean?  They keep saying that to me!

Monday was my first day at work.  Daddy works from home and he said I had to help him.  He said letâs go make some money!  Whatever that meansâ¦I just ran upstairs where he was going and laid on the big bed next to him.  I slept most of the day, although he woke me up every now and again with some kisses.  But the best part of my day is when mommy came home and jumped in the pool with me.  I was so tired after swimming that day that when we all went to sleep, I crawled right between them to keep myself from rolling off the bed.  Safety first and it was quite comfortable.

Tuesday I had to work again with daddy.  I guess I did OK on my first day since I kept my job.  Its not really hardâ¦sleep and look cute occasionally⦠I got this!!!  In the afternoon I went to the Vet, he said I in was great shape!  I got a star too!  But they give my humans some stuff to put in my ears and some stuff the put in my food.  I donât like the ear stuff so much, but they scratch my ears my ears afterwards and it feels really good.  So I donât mind it much.  The food thing is yummy and my hair is shiny and my skin feels great.  Did I mention how much I like the pool. Got to go there again today.

Wednesday and Thursday were pretty much the same.  Work, pool, and sleep.  This is exhausting but I am having such a good time that I think I may stay here for a while.  I love the kisses and the cuddling, but these humans are over the top, the keep throwing toys around the house and I keep bringing them back.

I think I may stay with them for a while.  I will keep you posted, but I think these humans are âkeepers.â  They are trainable and they are learning my needs.

Best Regards,

Bodhi  (formerly known as âHarley)

Hagen the Brindle Puppy

Good Morning! Congratulations on the new building! So many wonderful things you all do for the many animals in need through out the state. I wanted to share an updated picture of Hagan that we adopted more than a year and half ago. He is a wonderful member of our family. Sweet, loyal big snuggle guy. I can’t imagine our life without his sweet face. Thank you!

Herbie the Beagle

Herbie and I moved back to my hometown of Alexandria , Va. last year. My Florida dog has done very well adjusting to the snow this winter, he seems to love it! Despite being 11 years old now, everyone he meets thinks he's a puppy. We miss Florida but are so happy for all Judy and the staff are doing for cats and dogs that come their way. I am so grateful for Herbie, he is the BEST! He is Herbie the love bug for sure!

Hoops the Boxer Bulldog

Dash (Hoops) has been enjoying his new life with us over here in Clearwater!! He loves car rides, our 30 minute jog every morning and most of all his sleep!!! Thank you so much for doing what you do!!!! XOXOXO Michelle, Danny, Grayson and Dash (Hoops)
