Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Angelica the declawed Calico Cat
Angelica the declawed Calico Cat

Hi Megan, I just wanted to send an email giving you an update on Angelica. She is the most sweetest girl ever! She has quickly fit right into our family and we love her so very much. When we first got home, she didn't even hide! She has been happy and playful since the get go and she hasn't showed any signs of stress. I wanted to send a thank you to everyone that helped me Saturday, it was a nice and enjoyable process. Thank you again for everything! Trena

Alex the Retriever Shepard
Alex the Retriever Shepard

This is AWESOME! We will be in attendance with our "Pet Rescue by Judy" Riley Thrash. He was one of the rescues that you took in from West Virginia that came with an accent. (Remember?). He still loves chasing squirrels just like his BIO said when we were blessed to find him. It's his favorite hobby, but he enjoys all outdoor activities as well. Like playing with the neighbors lab and his daily walks. He is the LOVE of our lives. Can't wait for the reunion. Kathy & Keith & Riley

Annie Solei

Yvette, We are so happy to have Annie in our lives! She is adjusting to life in our home pretty well. I don't think she has eaten any kibble (Iams for large dogs), or barely any, in a day, but gladly accepts some chicken dog treats from my 5 year old daughter who has "trained" her to come, watch, and sit. I realize she is very new with us so I am not worried yet. We had the invisible fence installed today and she only got 2 shocks and probably never will again because she has figured it out good. Yikes, that was hard to see. The crate I bought, thinking of a 55 lb lab/mix, was too small because she is very tall. She stayed in it one night, and a few minutes that we had to leave the house yesterday, then would not go in it last night, even after she and I had a long discussion about it. I noticed that she would like to sleep on a bed. So, I am giving the crate to my sister's dog, and I am sending you a photo of "plan B" as I call it. I have a mudroom entrance from the garage where I had the crate and designated as her room, so I just put up a baby gate that I had around, got her a bed from the thrift shop, and close her in that room while nobody's home and it seems to work so far. It's pretty funny. I made an appointment at the vet next week to get acquainted, too. My cats go to a "cat only" veterinarian so I am going to meet one recommended by my sister for the dog. Thank you so much for the role you played in bringing us together and to all the people at PRBJ who helped make this possible. I hope you can reassure her "parents" who surrendered her that she will be well cared for and loved. Sincerely, Marty

Almond the Siamese Mix Kitten
Almond the Siamese Mix Kitten

We adopted Sable (Almond the Siamese Mix Kitten) in February of 2011 and renamed her because her fur is as soft as a sable fur coat. Her new name fits her perfectly. She is an absolute delight - playful, talkative, loving and she has a great personality. She is doing very very well and we are so pleased we adopted her. She has adapted well to her new home with us and we've given her lots of love and attention. Bunny and Tom

Audi the Puppy

Hey everybody! Just wanted to tell you that Audi, now known as lady (or ladybug- her grandma's nickname for her) is doing amazing in her new home! She is just so wonderful to have around and brings nothing but smiles. She is 6 months old now and is growing like a weed! Lady loves to run and play for hours! So much energy for such a little pup! She is most definatley a mommy's girl and such a people pleaser. Her favorite thing to do since we brought her home is to lay outside in the sun and fall asleep. Lady met her cousins, Bohdi and Blue. She wasnt shy when meeting them either. Bohdi is a Stafforshire Terrier and about 3 months and weighs at least as much as Lady does! Blue, a 95 lbs (pushing 100) American Staffordshire Terrier, was so gentle and careful while playing with her, and she, on the otherhand was jumping up and grabbing his ears and nipping at his ankles. Too cute! Just wanted to give you all an update! Thank you all for making our dreams come true by giving us the life of our love, Lady. XOXOXO,
