3-21-16 This morning early I took Princess to the small dog park and found out she likes to play ball. You need to throw the ball low so she can focus on it, and with a little coaxing she drops it . She just wants a home of her own where she can be loved and give lots of love back! Won't you be that family?
03/19/2016: Princess went out for Dog 4 A Day and she was such a good girl. The wonderful women who took her wrote up a very sweet story.
I took Princess out for a walk along the Sanford Riverwalk today. She was very calm and easy and very good on the leash. She likes the water for sure because she just couldn't ignore the pond , so I let her jump in. We were approached by an 11 year old girl at the park who asked me if she could pet my dog. Princess seamed relaxed and interested so I allowed the little girl to get closer and Princess happily let the little girl pet her. We continued our walk...approx.. 2 miles round trip and Princess didn't pay too much attention to the many birds and ducks in the park. She picked up something off the ground and easily let me open her mouth to pull it out (dead frog). After our walk I rinsed her off with fresh water, dryed and brushed her. She was very relaxed. She was a little unsure at first in the car but finally found her sweet spot and enjoyed the ride with her head out the window. Princess seems to be a very sweet, easy going dog and does extremely well on a leash.
Princess was a great mom to her eleven babies....she is a fantastic dog and is finally ready to enjoy life and a home with a great family. This sweet baby has for some reason been overlooked. She did her job with her babies and is now sitting here waiting for her forever home. Princess is also available for dog for a day, fostering and the best adoption. Please come in and meet this beautiful sweet girl.
According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
