Puddin' was rescued from a high kill shelter when she was extremely pregnant. The shelter staff named her because "she is sweet as puddin." They were certainly correct! Puddin' really is one of the sweetest dogs. She was an excellent mom to her pups even after having an emergency c-section and spay. Surgery didn't stop her! She continued nursing until they were all healthy and ready to eat on their own. And now, it is Puddin's time to find her forever home. This awesome dog will make any family glad they chose her. She loves kids, grownups, and yes, even teenagers! She gets along with other dogs but has not yet been taught her manners around cats. (With time and patience, she could probably master that too!) Puddin' is housebroken and crate trained. She loves to play, get attention and give attention. Her foster mom said she would keep her in a minute if she was able. Come out and meet Puddin' and let her show you just how sweet she is!
The Terrier is a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet, which is good with children and adults. Almost always obedient, it is always eager to please its master. It is an extremely courageous and intelligent guard dog that is very full of vitality. They are highly protective of their owners and the owner's property. It is usually very friendly, but has an uncanny ability to know when it needs to protect and when everything is okay. Excellent with children in the family, they have a high pain tolerance and will happily put up with rough child play. As with any breed, they should not be left alone with unfamiliar children. Used as all around working farm dogs, they were referred to as "the poor mans horse". They are strong and generally weigh between 40 and 70 lbs. They have a life expectancy of about 12 - 14 years.
