Description:

09/09/2015  Leonidas also known as Leo was in a foster home.  He was returned back to PRBJ.  His foster mom and dad have said that Leonidas is housetrained, likes to cuddle, likes going for his walks and loves his toys.  He does get very attached to his owner.  He loves his food so if there is another dog around we suggest feeding seperately.

Leonidas (Leo) was owner surrendered due to a sad situation.  His family had to move to an apartment and they were allowed only one dog.  Since they have a service dog they had to sadly let Leonidas go.  He is housebroken, likes other dogs, is happy, playful, loves to cuddle and will do best with another dog.  He loves all children and likes toys, tennis ball, bones and tug of war rope toys.  He does not like baths.  He walks well on a leash.  He is such a sweet wonderful dog that would love a family again of his own.

8/30/15 Dog 4 a Day update!

This is Tara & Matt - we took out Leonidas for the Doggie 4 A Day program on Saturday and wanted to share some photos.  :)

He was SUCH a good boy.  Still has some puppy tendencies and playfulness...but he was very obedient when we asked him to sit and lie down.  Leo is SO smart.  He loved running around the yard and playing fetch.  But he also loved cuddling with us on the couch and even snored a little when he fell asleep.  Haha. He'd be a great watch dog for a family home, since he was constantly aware of all noises and people at the door.

I wish our home was bigger and not already full of cats or we would take him ourselves.

The Terrier is a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet, which is good with children and adults. Almost always obedient, it is always eager to please its master. It is an extremely courageous and intelligent guard dog that is very full of vitality. They are highly protective of their owners and the owner's property. It is usually very friendly, but has an uncanny ability to know when it needs to protect and when everything is okay. Excellent with children in the family, they have a high pain tolerance and will happily put up with rough child play. As with any breed, they should not be left alone with unfamiliar children. Used as all around working farm dogs, they were referred to as "the poor mans horse". They are strong and generally weigh between 40 and 70 lbs. They have a life expectancy of about 12 - 14 years.
