Description:

Flo has the personality, face and those soft ears of a lab and the longer legs and adorable freckles like a hound. She is a VERY sweet, smart  and loving dog.  She loves ALL people and kids and any attention and affection that she can get.  She is very calm and gentle, but she also likes to play if someone will play with her.  She gets along very well with other dogs. She lives with a foster family full of dogs and kids and just fits in great and seamlessly!

Flo is a gentle sweet 3 year old Hound that came from Alachua Animal Control.  They got her from a local rescue after they could not keep her since she was slightly heartworm positive. Since easy to treat, they asked Judy to take in this sweet dog and find her a home.

PRBJ treats ALL of our dogs with monthly Heartworm preventative. HW+ dogs are treated with the recommended slow method, using monthly HW preventative as it is gentler on the animal’s system than the more invasive, injection method. Most dogs that are Heartworm positive can lead healthy, normal lives if the disease is caught early and treatment began. There are different options to treat HW and new owners may choose to redirect their type of treatment with direction of their vet.All HW+ dogs have a HW slow treatment info sheet in their adoption folder which will be provided to new owners.

Foster Update 5/31/14:
Flo is unbleievable.  She has never had any problems with my 2 dogs or any of the dogs we have met on several trips to the dog park.  She walks well on the leash and is very quiet (only time I have heard her bark is when she is excited while playing with the dogs).  She is house trained and crate trained.  Flo sleeps in her crate at night without any problems.  She is in great physical shape and has the biggest, sweetest eyes you have ever seen!  She would be an excellent pet for anyone!
