Udith is a lovely white and brindle terrier mix. Make sure you watch the videos at the bottom of her webpage ~ she plays frisbee! Udith was rescued from a backyard breeder after having weaned yet another litter. We don't know how many litters this dear thing has been made to produce, but she has managed to maintain her spirit and her loving nature. Now it is her turn to be cared for and loved.

Volunteer update 7/19: I spent all day Sat. with Udith and i can say nothing but wonderful things about her. She is a very polite and sweet dog. She LOVES attention and will sit pretty and ligtly paw at her crate to get your attention. She is SSOOO sweet. She is a very strong dog who needs a bit of leash training but otherwise her personality is wonderful! So well mannered!

9/3 Volunteer Update:
I was very excited to get Udith out to the dog park to see how she would do. She was amazing! For some reason, all of the puppies and smaller dogs wanted to jump up in her face. Is it that maternal instinct that they sensed? As they got in her face, she would just raise her head a little higher. After awhile, when they jumped up at her face she made a sound that let them know “Okay, I’m getting over this. You little ones need to stop…” (I know because my own dog makes a similar sound when little dogs get in his face too much.) She never so much as snapped at them though. She just kept trying to turn away from them — when she did there was another pack waiting for her.
She did zero in on a Golden Retriever that she wanted to play with (isn’t it funny how dogs sometimes find that one dog at the dog park that they want to play with?) I’m not sure it was because the Golden was more her size, or what.
As we were leaving, a German Shepherd pup — almost Udith’s size — ran up from behind her and tried to jump at her. I think it startled her but, again, she did not react. She was such a sweet, good girl.

9/15 Foster Update:
We’ve been calling her Sarah which she responded to immediately. She is such a sweet girl. She listens very well and knows her sit, stay, down(most the time) and come commands. She’s wonderful in the yard and responds very well to correction. We’ve done some leash training and she is a quick learner. We still have some work to do- if she hears or sees another dog she takes off towards them. She’s not aggressive but wants to investigate up close. Same with the cats- she wants to be up and personal with them and they’re not too comfortable with it. They’ll swat at her and she’ll just stand there. She’s been terrific with my kids (ages 11 & 13) but a little defensive when a whole group of kids came into the house. Overall she’s a wonderful dog, loves to play with her toys and curl up next to you when she can. My neighbors think she is the most beautiful dog they’ve ever seen. She is very strong and would probably do best with a family with dog experience. She will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family’s home.

10/08 Foster Update:
Sarah, as we call her, is such a sweet girl and really learning to listen well. She loves to take walks and is doing better everyday with her leash training. She’s very smart and knows if she’s done something wrong and goes straight to her crate without even being told. It’s hard to punish her when she’s so repentant! She loves to ride in the car and be close to you at all times. She is still occasionally growling/snipping at strange kids/animals but we are working on that and she’s doing better. She’s wonderful with my kids and most of the kids in the neighborhood. She has a favorite toy- a pink squeaky that squeaks on both ends. She could spend hours just making noise! She’s a great dog and deserves a loving home.

10/22 Foster Update:
I love this dog. She has turned a corner in her training and she is doing remarkably well. She’s tons better on a leash and walks right beside me now- very little pulling. She listens to her sit, come and stay commands beautifully. She is such a lover and wants to be close to you as much as possible. She sleeps in s
