Falco was found as a stray alone abandoned in someones yard. This sweet yet shy chi/corgi warms up quickly but needs a little time to feel comfident with a new person.

Here is what Falco's foster family has to say about him:

It is first imperative to say that Falco is WAY cuter and smaller than what his pictures depict!!  He is a dog that you have to meet to see what a cutie that he is both in looks and personality.  He appears to be more along the lines of a small Corgi mix, and he also acts younger than 2 years old.  He is not a barker and not aggressive in any way.  He is a WONDERFUL little dog!

*Leash Manners- Walks very well on the leash, stays by your side and does not pull at all.

*Crate/House Training- Is housetrained and crate trained.  He is very quiet and calm in the crate.

*Socialization- Loves people, including kids.  Gets along well with other dogs, but is intimidated by large dogs if they overwhelm him and will try to protect himself by growling and/or squealing.

*Energy Level and Exercise-  Is very playful and likes a lot of attention.  He would need regular exercise and playtime by way of dog park visits, walks, play with other dogs or people.

*Daily Structure and Schedule-  Eats twice a day and is a good eater.  Takes short naps in the day and sleeps well and quiet all night.

*Confidence level-  Can be slightly nervous at first when meeting someone new, but warms up very quickly, then is super friendly.  Is definately nervous around large dogs if they overwhelm him, but I am sure would be fine if her knew and trusted them (as he is with my dogs).

*Obedience Training-  does not appear he has had any obedience training, but he is very smart and would respond well to it.

*Behaviors-  behaves much a puppy in that he is mouthy.  He will chew on things, including anything left on the floor and fingers just like a puppy which he will hopefully grow out of soon!  He is also VERY affectionate- loves to be on a lap and gives lots of kisses!!  He is also funny and playful.  He will take an object, throw it up in the air and then pounce on it.  He also likes to play "chase" and fetch.  He is a lot of fun!  The kids LOVE him!

*Ideal Home-  Would be nice for him to have someone to play with, whether it be another playful dog or kids.  Might be best if the kids were at least 6 or so that would understand and could handle his mouthiness.  Would also be ideal if he was not left alone all day and could get regular exercise.

According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Chihuahua is the oldest breed on the American continent and the smallest breed in the world. Native to Mexico, nonetheless it seems to have been introduced by the Chinese. It was only brought to Europe at the end of the nineteenth century. The Chihuahua is named after the Mexican state of Chihuahua where he was brought to the rest of the world by travelers. This breed is believed to have been sacred to the Pre-Columbian Indian nations. The Chihuahua is a popular, economical companion dog. Courageous, extremely lively, proud and enterprising, it gives and demands affection. Bold and saucy, it moves swiftly to avoid being stepped on. Chihuahua's are strong-willed, intensely loyal and become very attached to their owners, even to the point of jealousy. They like to lick their owner's faces. It is undeniably suspicious of people except for its owner. When strangers are present, it follows its owner's every move, keeping as close as possible. This breed may snap at teasing children, after all it is too tiny to get away. The Chihuahua must resort to his sharp teeth in self defense. It is not recommended for children. He can be noisy and may require patience to housebreak. Many owners simply paper train this breed. The Chihuahua hates the cold and may shiver, although this may be due to high metabolism as much as temperature or anxiety. It will tolerate and even appreciate a warm sweater on cooler days. They are good little dogs for apartment life. Although it is tempting to carry these dainty creatures about, they will keep fitter if taken for walks. A body harness is safer than a collar. Don't think that just because he is small he should be confined to a small space. Chihuahuas have a life expectancy of 15 or more years.
